Explain what happens when text is copied or cut from a document?
The text is save in so calle cache memory or clipboard.
Then it rests there till you paste the text or better said till you delete it from there.
A copy of the text is stored in a save areas called a clipboard from where it can be pasted into other areas.
How can you arrange text into multiple columns?
That depends on the nature of the text and what way you want it to be in columns. If it is just a large block of text that you want into newspaper-styled columns, then word processors and desktop publishers have the facility to do that. If you want text that is data, like names and addresses etc. and you want to break the data up so that all the names are in a column and the addresses are in columns, then you do something different. You separate the components on a line with commas and put each new set of data on a new line. Then it can be imported into a database or spreadsheet and the data will be split into columns based where the commas are.

How does Microsoft Word help Americans?
Most documents that are printed out and saved are done so through Microsoft Word. If you are going to type something up for any reason, you would probably use Word, and then save it for later use. It is extremely helpful for saving attachments. Once you get an attachment in an email, or anything remotely interesting that you want to save, you can just click and drag until all of the text you want is highlighted and do a right click and hit copy. Once you open up Word (a taskbar shortcut or Start menu shortcut), you can just right click again and hit paste, and there it will be, though it will take much longer depending on how big the document is. Also, any and all documents in Word, regardless of whether they are being moved there or if they were already there, can be edited or reworded and saved again with the changes intact or even with a new file name.

What is the keyboard shortcut for header and footer?
Header and Footer comes under the View menu.
To shortcut to Header and Footer: Alt v h (Alt + V + H).
Remember, you can use Alt in combination with any underlined letter in a menu bar or menu. Even if the shortcut letter isn't underlined, still give the most appropriate-looking letter a try with Alt and see what happens.
Don't be afraid of mucking up something: you can always shortcut Ctrl z to Undo, or Alt e u (Alt + E + U) or Redo (Repeat): Ctrl y, or Alt e r (Alt + E + R), or Alt + shift + backspace.
Experiment with your keyboard: you usually won't break anything and you'll save heaps of time. The great thing with keyboard shortcuts, too, is you can key ahead: you can't do that with a mouse, and of course, the more you switch between keyboard and mouse, the more you challenge your concentration, which is tiring and distracts you from the work at hand.
It's well worth taking a few hours to learn to touch-type. Doesn't mean you mustn't ever look at the keys, unless you're aiming to become a top-flight super secretary; it just means your fingers will forever after remember which key is where, so you can devote most of your attention to your onscreen work instead of fishing for the right key.
Some people will insist they're fantastically fast just pecking away with one or two fingers, and don't lose any concentration that way. They're dead wrong, and also will suffer, if they use a keyboard regularly, from tendon and skeletal problems years down the track.
Doesn't seem important when you're younger, but ask one of the older generation who's been two-finger pecking for decades whether they're experiencing any mobility problems with their hands. Trust me, they are, and this can be terribly disabling for those who do fine, concentrated work with their hands for work or hobbies. I know people from jewellers and violinists to tailors and cake decorators who curse those decades-back keyboards.
For the same reason, it's a good idea to use a left/right mouse, so you can regularly switch hands for mousing. One higher-tech mouse for highly mouse-driven work, plus another basic model for working mainly with text, is great if you can acquire both.
At school or work it's in the school's or the employer's interests to keep things ergonomic; you can always approach admin or management and discuss ways to keep hands healthy.
Incidentally, the numberpad is designed to operate by touch: the '5' key has a raised indicator to tell you where to rest the middle finger of your right hand, just as the main keyboard has raised indicators on the 'f' and 'j' keys to show you where to rest your index fingers. It takes only minutes practice to learn to operate the numberpad by touch; you can still look at the keys if you like, but after a while you won't need to.
It's a worry to be in a bank or at a checkout and see operators pecking with one or two fingers at the numberpad, or, worse, at the main keyboard's number row. For home computer users it should be a priority to learn touch-operation and for workers it should be the employer's responsibility to ensure they know, or are taught by the employer, to work by touch. As I say, we're not talking no-glance at-the-keyboard, super-speed stuff here: just the basics required to maintain good health.
I personally wouldn't hire someone who might even just occasionally use a keyboard without being sure they had the basic skills to work by touch, or were willing to learn these skills during work time.
