Is teeth grinding caused by pinworms?

No, that's an old belief that has absolutely no validity. Teeth grinding is caused by tension. Talk to a dentist to get a device that you can wear during sleep to stop the teeth grinding. Tgdan: I don't think it's fair to say that all teeth grinding is due to tension. It's true that the majority of teeth grinding seems to be due to stress but there are other factors too. For example if you have a pre-existing sleep disorder (notably obstructive sleep apnoea) then you are at increased risk of bruxism (teeth grinding). A high intake of alcohol and caffiene as well as smoking also increase your risk. It's also important to realise that whilse a nightguard will protect your teeth from premature wear as well as reduce the other symptoms of bruxism, it will not stop you from trying to grind your teeth. Nightguards are only a control rather than a cure. There is no known cure, although reducing your stress levels can certainly help in some cases.

You have heard the nape piercing relieves tension headaches?

Hey! So I know a piercing guy that has over 200 piercings himself. He gets migraines as well as one of my friends. They have both gotten their napes pierced to relieve their headaches. I am about to get mine done as well. This guy in particular has a 100% success rate. It's really important that you go to a legit professional though (preferably someone who only does piercings and nothing else).

Anyways, I'm going to ask him about the tension headaches, but any pro piercer is going to know anyway. Goodluck!

What chiari malformation is?

Chiari malformations refer to a series of conditions in which the cerebellum and brain stem have fallen into the spinal canal due to a small or misshapen skull
  • Type 1 a small portion of the cerebellum has extended into the spinal canal, usually develops as the skull and brain are growing
  • Type 2 both the cerebellum and brain stem have extended into the spinal canal, this form is present at birth and usually associated with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.
  • Type 3 is rare and severe, both the cerebellum and brain stem have extended all the way to the spinal cord, this type has a high mortality rate
  • Type 4 involves an incomplete or underdeveloped cerebellum, usually associated with anencephaly, this type has a high mortality rate
One defines Arnold Chiari as a malformation of the brain. It has a downward displacement of the opening of the base of the skull which means it can cause communication problems. Problems include headaches, fatigue, muscle weakness in the face, nausea and difficulty in swallowing. Severe cases include impaired vision and paralysis.

What should you do if you get hit in the head?

check for bleeding, pain, dizzyness, memory loss, impaired heading and vision. If any of these occur, even after some time, or if you don't trust your observations, consult a medical doctor.

Does natural light counter fluorescent light effects on migraines?

If you are asking that if you spent 2 hours under fluorescent lights and then went outside for 2 hours, then no - it would not counter the effects.

What is believed to cause fluorescent lights to be a migraine trigger is the imperceptible flickering and humming that occurs while they are on. It is doubtful that exposure to natural light would interfere with that, even if it was pouring through a window into the room with the fluorescent lights.

However, it is also believed that fluorescent lights alter the way our light perceives color. Natural light in the same room would interfere with that slightly.

Also that some people are triggered not just due to fluorescent lights, but fluorescent lights causing a glare on the computer screen in front of them, which can also refocus the flicker so that your eyes are more exposed to it. Ways to avoid this problem are flatscreen monitors, glare protection screens which fit over a monitor, and - if possible - altering the room so that an incandescent light is on the desk, next to or behind the computer monitor, so that the light isn't coming from above and behind you to be reflected in the monitor.

Do breast implants cause migraines?

There is the possibility that breast implants can cause migraines in some people.

If the breast implants are triggering an inflammation response in the body, then part of that inflammation response can be a migraine. Think of it as part of an allergic reaction to the breast implants.

Also, if the breasts are enlarged enough to cause poor posture and neck tension, it may irritate the nerves which travel through the neck into the brain, which may then cause a headache. For some people, a normal tension headache can trigger a migraine response.

WhAT migraine medications are not a controlled susance?

Very few migraine medications are controlled substances. The only ones that are are the medications which only treat pain and are not geared directly toward migraine. It is much better to try the medications which ARE geared directly toward migraine, because only taking pain medications will simply cover up the pain instead of the aborting the migraine, and medication-overuse can expose you to rebound headache, which can cause transformed migraine due to medication-overuse, a version of Chronic Daily Headache.

None of the triptans are controlled substances.

None of the preventative medications (which are all blood pressure medications, anti-seizure medications, or anti-depressants, etc..in other words, in other categories) are controlled substances.

Can you Outline a stepwise approach to treating migraines?

Migraines are a source of mystery for doctors. But, eating well, getting excersize, drinking enough water, sleeping well and caffeine are all considered good ways to avoid them. If you are not a caffeine user then don't start, but you can take caffeine at the first sign of a migraine to head it off. The drug will act on the blood vessels that change size when you have a migraine. If you are a caffeine user, don't stop. Cutting off the drug can cause a migraine. If you want to cut back (which might be a good idea) talk with your doctor first and do it slowly. Hope this helps!

Can you have a Migraine with nausea but no headache?

Yes, sinus headaches can give you nausea. If you have had sinus headaches in the past without nausea or this headache also has thick green or yellow mucus possibly tinged with red blood coming from your sinuses, you should call your doctor, as it could be a sinus infection.

The treatment for sinus headaches/sinus infections can also cause nausea. Your doctor can give you something for the nausea too. So the medications for the sinus problem can get into your system and get you feeling better.
