In most modern cars this sensor 'tells' to engine control (computer) the position of the crankshaft in ratio with the camshaft; both are syncroniced to an especific position to produce the combustion... (that means the camshaft sensor to do the same) ... with this readings (from both sensor) the computer fire up the fuel injectors & the ignition coil... by controling the frecuency of the fuel injection your engine is managed to proper performance & this start with the crank sensor trigger signal.

It will be in your owners manual. If you don't have one, try going to the Jaguar website. Click on "ownership," then "my Jaguar." On the left of the screen, you should see "Owners Manuals." Click on that, then click on your model (under the photo) then pick the year and download the manual. It may not be for your exact year (I think they only go back to 2000) but the directions are probably the same. --an additional note on this, if you have a newer garage door opener that has a rolling code, you most likely won't be able to use the buttons installed in the car, the technology is too old. I have that problem with my 97 XK8 and am stuck with a dumb garage door opener hanging from the visor

Look under the front passenger seat. My 2001 and 2002 have the amp mounted to the floor under the seat.

You have to remove the door panel and the protecting plastic behind it. After that you have to disconnect all arms from the handle. The handle is hold on two bolts. Some people remove the lock too. It's just easier to work with. If you have thin fingers better for you because it's the best place to work with big fingers.

Be patient it might take you a while.

i believe in third generations you have to get underneath the car. google the picture of the starter and once you get under it look for the part that looks like it.

It's the fluid inside the transmission that lubricates the gears and allows the transmission to function properly. It should be replaced with Diamond SPT III transmission fluid.

no, the mounts are completely different. It would require alot of fabrication and then also require a completely different transmission

first you would need a turbo manifold that will fit the 420A style engine. the 4g63 manifold will not work because the exhaust runners are not the same size, and the holes are mounted in a different configuarion. second you will need a turbo, start small. You can use the 14b from 1g eclipse turbo, or you can use the t25 from the 2g eclipse turbo. or if you want to go BIG then you would upgrade that to a 16g from the evoIII. Intercooler, Oil feed and return lines, Intercooler piping. A remapping of the ECU to accept an OVERBOOST engine code, because the 420A ecu was set to 14.7psi (atmosphere), anything too far over that would throw an engine code. and before you start saying you'll dial down the boost to 10psi, remember, that if you are at 10psi, the computer is reading 24.7. Why? do you ask? because atmosphere (14.7) + (10) turbo boost = 24.7 psi. Coolant feed and return lines, an oil cooler kit, Boost/vacuum gauge, MBC, a Down pipe/flex pipe to replace the one you are about to remove from your car for the very last time. And don't forget the turbo elbow that feeds from the wastegate actuator to the downpipe. last but certainly not least, a compression bypass valve or BOV as some would call it. the 1g eclipse valve will work well since it is an upgrade component on a 2g upgrade path.

Parts and part and part and alot of patience.

or you could save alot of headaches and just buy a turbo eclipse for about the same money as the parts would cost.

Alternator belt would be the serpentine belt.. the big one that goes around all the crap...

The only other belt should be around the timing... and that should be covered by plastic.....

I called the Mitsubishi imports dealership and they said that the Eclipse Gt 2000-05 takes 4.5 quarts of oil and that is with the filter too!

so no more than 4.5 quarts with a new oil filter

its on the passenger side close to the firewall in the engine compartment. it should be a white stick that says engine on it.

Ok depend on how many speeds it is i drive a Pontiac G6 GXP and i use the slap shift alot. The G6 is a 6-speed and during normal driving when im not beating on it i shift up a gear when the rpms reach 3000.

Check or replace the CAS (crank angle senor).Sounds like that input sensor to the ecu is not present....that providing your coil pack,wires,plugs,and ecu is good...sound like the problem i had couple of months ago...cam285 @dsm.forums

New? I'm doubtful there is such a thing as "new" rebuilt perhaps.. it will run you about $1500.

Place the car on a jack stand. Use a wise to make a hook. You will use it to grab any clog in the drain. Check under the engine to find the drain tube. Use the wire to remove the clog. Pour water through the tube after removing the clog. Connect the tube to the engine.
