Information on back o the moon a small settlement i thornhill dewsbury west Yorkshire?

I don't know the back story but I remember it from when I lived in Thornhill as a child in the 1960s. As I remember it was a short row of terraced houses, by then ruined and derelict, somewhere in the westrern Edge Top area of Thornhill (but I may be wrong). I went there with my father and my memory is of crossing a field on a path to reach this isolated row of derelict houses with the street sign 'T'BACK O'T'MOON' still there. People used to refer to it fondly.

Is the Black Knight satellite real?

No one really knows, although substantial evidence points to the fact that it is real, for example in 1899 a repeating radio signal was recorded coming from space, this was obviously well before flight was even possible.

Also in 1958 during the space race, all eyes were turned to the sky, this meant 24 hour monitoring of space, during this period a satellite was picked up orbiting in a polar orbit, something human technology could not achieve at that time as all orbits required a gravity boost (they went the way the earth was spinning)

I know this doesn't really answer your question but I do hope it has at least helped you come to your own conclusion

What did the people learn when they landed in the moon?

The main thing they learned was that we could land on another heavenly body. While that may sound obvious, there were many scientists on earth who felt that the Lunar Module would sink into the surface of the moon. NASA was concerned enough about it to make constant checks for vehicle stability for several minutes after landing.

Scientific experiments determined that the moon is cold and has been for most of it's life. Astronauts brought back very few examples of volcanic material from the moon. They found a lot of titanium in the lunar rocks. They also found out that most of the rocks were a mixture of other rocks. They also learned that plants can grow in the lunar soil, provided they have sufficient water. They found out there was no water on the moon. They also found out that the moon's gravity is not constant over its surface. Certain areas of the moon have mass concentrations (mascons) of gravity that altered the path of the orbiting vehicle by several miles each orbit.

What is the second name of functional affixes?

The second name of functional affixes is "grammatical affixes." These affixes serve a grammatical purpose in a language, such as indicating tense, number, or case, as opposed to carrying lexical meaning like content words. They include prefixes, suffixes, infixes, and circumfixes that modify the meanings of root words.

What orbits a planet and its not a moon?

An object which orbits a planet is generically called a satellite. The moon is a satellite, but so are artificial satellites, and occasionally asteroids and space junk.

Why was the moon important to the allied invasion plan?

Because the invasion began in the early morning hours before the sun came up. Parachutists had to see the ground to know where they should land. Landing crafts had to see the shore in order to avoid all the barrackades that the Germans set up to stop the Americans. Most importantly, the Americans needed a shoreline to land on. They planned the invasion around a low tide with a full moon for lighting and safety reasons.

What is the large body of rock or gas that orbits the earth?

Our moon is made almost entirely of rock identical in composition to the rock of earth's mantle.

There is no object made of gas orbiting earth.

Why does the moon appear yellow but photographs grey?

The only time the moon is yellow is when it's close to the earth's horizon. The reason the moon looks yellow is because the light from the moon passes through the haze and smog in the earth's atmosphere. As the moon rises in the sky, it passes through less haze and regains it's greyish color. The true unfiltered color of the moon is grey.

Photographers determine the coloer of the moon in their photographs by the variying exposure they use. A short exposure adds color to photographs. A longer exposure "washes out" colors and makes them appear whiter, or in the case of the moon, grey.

Do moons have to orbit a planet?

Yes, because if they didn't they wouldn't be moons, they would just be chunks of rock or whatever they are made of.

Why is the sun shining at the night and why is the moon upset about it?

The sun does not shine in the night. The full moon reflects sunlight to the Earth at night.
