What is the incidence of infertility with identical twins?
Most people will answer this by explaining that the twins will run the same risk are normal adults.
However, if the twins are monozygotic they may also be "mirror-twins", in which one twin would have an increased chance of displaying situs inversus, a condition where the organs are flipped (mirrored to other twin).
This in and of itself isn't harmful, but the origins of situs inversus are believed to be in the earliest stages of development, arising from cilia that move clockwise instead of counter-clockwise, thus moving the cells that will form organs to the wrong side.
Going back to questions of infertility, it is known that this wrong-turning cilia cannot play a normal roll in some biologic functions, including driving the bending movement required for sperm (cilia structures of the tail) to be motile. In this way, male infertility (sterility) could theoretically be affecting at a higher incidence in man mirror twins with situs inversus.
Is identical twins are more closely related than tyhe fraternal twins?
Yes. Identical twins started out as one egg and one sperm cell and are genetically identical. Fraternal twins come from two eggs and two sperm cells and are no more closely related than any other sibling.
Are globalization and unipolarity considered conjoined twins?
Not really. Unipolarity is a term that describes an international system in which one power (or state) is much more powerful than any other power, or potential group of powers. How does identical and fraternal twins happen?
If one egg is fertilized and as it begins to grow it divides into two separate zygotes (fetuses) then they can develop into identical twins. If two separate eggs are both fertilited at the same time they will develop into fraternal twins
There are two types of twin, monozygotic (identical) or dizygotic (fraternal, non-identical) and each type is created in a different way explained below:
1) Monozygotic Twins. These type of twins both com from the same fertilized (zygote) and so have exactly the same genetic make up and will look exaclty like one another. Once the zygote has developed up to a certain point it splits into two, separate zygotes. This is often because the mother has received a mild bump, not enough to be fatal, to the stomach. These two new zygotes will go on to grow and develope as normal although they may well be stunted in size because of the lack of space to grow and because they share the same placenta and to have to compete for nutrition.
2)Dizygotic Twins. These type of twins com from two separate eggs and so are only as similar as any two brother/sister compination. This type of twin occurs when both of the mothers overied are active at the same time and both produce and ovum. The fathers sperm is easily enough to fertalize the two eggs both of which will then implant into the uterus and develope into babies. These type of twins, unlike the ones above, each have their own placentas so the only reason for them to be stunted in size is the lak of space.

Can you have twins if your husband's mother is a twin?
The first one is fraternal twins (which are more associated with heredity) and the second one is identical twins.
However, because your husband's mother is a twin, it may put you at a slightly higher chance for a twin pregnancy. This chance would be higher if your mother or grandmother had a history of twin pregnancies.

Conjoined twins cannot be bred. This condition is not genetic.
A set of male conjoined twins fathering children with a set of female conjoined twins will almost certainly produce children who are not even twins at all.

Twins normally skip a generation... but there is no telling until you get a sonogram.
if you DO only have one child at this time, that child has the twin gene, and could have twins.
its the women who determs if you are having twins
Can you still have twins without having them run in your family?
doubtful
Yes, only fraternal twinning (caused by releasing more than one egg) has a genetic connection, and that connection only holds on the mother's side. So, many twins are born with no family history of twins at all.
What if your great grandma had twins and your dad is a twin will you have twins?
Most likely not, as it shows to skip a generation. It skipped your grandma, so by logic, the pattern is yes-no-yes-no. You would the the fourth no.
It will also depend on which side of the family the twins were on. The propensity to have fraternal twins can be inherited as a female trait that causes more than one egg to be dropped at a time.
Identical twins have no genetic relationship that has been found to date.
no
JC is pregnant. Bianca mentioned it on the news Tuesday, Oct 11, 2011 on the Eye Opener at 5:30 am.
Can fraternal twins also be mirror twins?
Mirror Twins are always monozygote twins.
This does not mean that fraternal twins won't be a righty and a lefty - if your family tends to run left handed.
What is the diffence between identical twins and fraternal twins?
Identical twins come from one egg and one sperm. Fraternal twins come from two eggs and two sperm.
You have the same chance as the general population. Identical twins are a genetic accident, researchers still don't know what triggers an egg to split making two embryos from one fertilized egg.
