Haida were not nomadic like the plains indigenous nations. The Haida did travel extensively along the northwest Pacific coast to trade. Haida clans would gather in many winter villages and in the seasons of food collection - spring, summer and fall - would travel as individual clans to smaller camps/sites. They would collect a variety of resources from different locations and preserve them for winter. In each of these camps longhouse posts and beams, owned by the clan, would be there waiting for the wall planks and roof shingles that their owners took with them as they moved. Haida travelled great distances from what is now called Alaska down to California.

Since the Bedouins are mainly nomadic people they move constantly. They live primarily in villages with their families in Saudi Arabia, Libya, Jordan, Egypt, Israel, Syria, and Sudan. Bedouins are, of course, not limited to one country or region, though the more traditional Bedouins do normally inhabit the desert regions, including the Sinai and the Eastern and Western Deserts. However, these days, they can also be found in many of the resort communities of the Sinai and even in the larger cities of Egypt, such as Cairo.
In many countries where they reside, there has been increasing governmental pressure for them to leave their nomadic lifestyle behind and become settled since, as nomads, Bedouins do not pay property taxes, income taxes, and several other forms of taxes since they are not applicable to a nomadic lifestyle. When they live in these new cities, suddenly they become part of the tax base.
What changes in the Sahel are affecting the nomadic people?
Im doing this in geography for my coursework and basically the nomadic people are the ones changing the Sahel by doing a process called slash and burn. Slash and burn is when the tribe uses the land and all its resources and then just moves on to a new peice of land. The land before is left baron and dry, this is the process of desertification. hope i could help lol :) Hannah,14
