It may anger the spirit and cause unwanted results. * You can afterwards cleanse the board if you wish, with a method from a medium or paranormal website. Always remember to write down your questions and answers, so you know what you have gathered and can make links in further Ouija sessions. ALWAYS make sure you say goodbye at the end , and be sure the spirit says goodbye. If you dont close down the board correctly, the spirit may choose to haunt you, which can cause unwanted results. Yes, they do. But, like the first comment, they are not used to communicate with your lost loved ones. Imagine there's the 'spirit world' and the 'normal world', an Ouiji board is like a telephone-box between those worlds but ANY spirit can 'pick up', and it most likely won't be a loved one. And it's so easy for a 'bad spirit' (demons) to deceive you. --thats what i think. I'm not sure if I'm a believer but it's said that bad things happen to people who play with Ouiji board

If you pour holy water on a Ouija board it will wash away the bad spirits. First you have to cut it up into 7 pieces then pour holy water on it and then you have to burry it. if you dont then you cant destroy it. If you burn it the spirits will scream and whoever hears the scream will have less then 36 hours to live! :(

Being a part of a paranormal group in Maine and having used a Ouija Board with a group of friends, as well as having paranormal experiences myself growing up. Using a O.B. is not a game.

Sure it is sold by Parker Brothers, or whatever game company, but it is not a game.

I have seen many individuals who know nothing of the O.B. that have used it and the results were devastating to say the least!

Spirits can come across and you can open doorways that may be later impossible to shut. You may end up getting something evil and they will play to be a person that you know and loved and want you to join them to you giving them information of your realm so that they can attach to you and/or enter your realm.

This question is quite simple to answer. A ouija board is a connection between there world and ours. There for, letting them speak to us. Thus, when you burn a ouija board, you are destroying the only thing they have to communicate, making the souls angry. There for, the souls will in fact come after the ones who burnd the board.

1) If it has an evil spirit in it, the best way to get rid of it is to burn it outside of your house. If not and you just want to get rid of it the best way to do that is to just throw it in a dumpster far away from your house. If you have any ghosts from it in the house try burning white sage it really works to get rid of spirits.

2) DO NOT under any circumstance, burn the board! You need to purify the board with salt, holy water, holy oil, etc. You can put the board in a box with a thick layer of salt and then pour another thick layer of salt on top of it. Leave the open box out in the sun all day but make sure no one can come by and take it. Before the sun sets, you can bring it in the house, then sell it, trash it, give it away or whatever. DO NOT burn it or rip it or destroy it in any way before you cleanse or purify it.

If you happen to miss bringing it in before the sun sets, leave it outside. Dont bring it in the house, even if someone else might steal it. Burning sage is also a good idea just in case.

To get rid of a ouija board, you should cleanse it (salt, holy water, holy oil, etc) and wrap it in or with a neutralizing cloth or object (directly against the board). (By the way, yes the cleansing materials much touch the board directly.) Cleansing the board purifies it as well as temporarily neutralizes it, which is why a strictly neutralizing item or cloth is needed afterwards so that it will not have a chance to reactivate. After you have done all this, you can sell it, give it away, keep it in storage, or just throw it away. (The neutralizing items MUST go with the board so that it is kept neutral and unusable.) Do not, under ANY circumstances, try to destroy the board. No burning, no breaking, nothing! I say this because the ouija board is essentially a portal through which spirits come, and if you destroy it you would possibly be in for a world of negativity. When broken or burned, the portal is not destroyed along with the board -- instead, it is like you've permanently opened the portal and ANYTHING can get through without any hindrance. As long as the board is neutralized and closed, the portal is closed.
