Why does back of the knee pain occur?
There are 5 main causes of pain behind the knee
1) Bakers Cyst - inflammation of the bursa (fluid filled sac) at the back of the knee. It is normally asscoiated with swelling behind the knee
2) Cartilage Tear - a tear in the cartilage at the back of the knee.
3) Arthritis - wear and tear of the bones and cartilage. Most common over the age of 50
4) Hamstring Injury - injury (eg tear or overstretching) of the hamstrings muscles down the back of the leg
5) Knee Sprain - overstretching one of the knee ligaments

How long does it take for morphine injections given for chest pain to get out of the system?
It depends on the dosage given and the patient's morphine tolerance level (previous exposure/use of morphine or morphine derivatives). Generally however, most are only effective for about 4-6 hours. The rate of dissipation from the body is totally dependent on the patient as well, i.e., the patient's kidney function. Usually though within 48-72 hours most or all of it is gone. Again though, it depends on the dose and the patient - everyone is different, and you cannot rely on averages - they're simply guidelines.

If I recall correctly, this oiintment was once made or adopted by one of the railroads in the US? If so -- and I'm pretty sure I'm right -- it's no longer made. The reason, I would imagine, is that oils of wintergreen and spearmint, while they feel cool, aren't really helping. Being oils, they can seal the wound from exposure to air, which reduces local pain somewhat but, being oils, they're sticky and they act as an adhesive to dirt and bacteria. Turns out it does more damage than help. If the burn is severe, you might consider asking your doctor about Silvadene / Silver Sulphide. It's been around for quite a while and it's a superb burn antibacterial. If the burn doesn't require this, go for keeping the wound clean, use gentle antiseptics like betadyne, and keep it loosely bandaged, to keep the wound clean but leat air get in to dry it.

Ice your finger until it is numb.
Make sure that your finger is warm, you can put the finger under warm water. reason being, you capillary blood thins from the heat and stimulates blood flow. Massage the tip of your finger, to increase the blood flow also. Disinfect with alcohol swab, then gently squeeze your finger, prick your finger, whip fist drop off and squeeze your finger gently again. You should get a droplet enough for your test. Do not use ice, this decreases the blood flow to the area, resulting in less blood and the pain of having to prick again. Trust me I am a Medical Assistant! I am diabetic and preform this procedure all day!

Specify the type of pain also - sharp pain that travels a certain path is usually a nerve related problem, as is numbness and tingling. Dull, throbbing pain is muscular in nature; burning can be ligaments or nerve problems. You get the idea.
