Should you use rubbing alcohol to help your lower back pains?
I'm not really sure how that would do much good, since rubbing alcohol would really only cool the skin and back pains are typically muscular or spinal in nature. You might be better off with heat and massage.
What diet is best for gallbladder pain?
After suffering for years myself, the first thing I would suggest is to remove eggs and coffee out of the diet completely. Pork is also a common culprit. Try to choose lower fat meal options and avoid creamy type foods, like ice-cream or mayonaisse, etc. This should be a good start.
Between your middle ear and your throat there is a passage called the eustachian (say: yoo-stay-she-un) tube. The eustachian tubes (you have one on each side) keep pressure from building up by letting air move in and out of your middle ear. When you were young, especially before you turned 3, the eustachian tubes were very small and less able to keep germs out.
The eustachian tubes get longer and usually work better in older kids, but they can still cause problems. If you have allergies or catch a cold, the eustachian tubes can get blocked up and let germs get in the middle ear. Then the number of germs can grow inside your middle ear and cause an infection.
You do not catch ear infections from other people, though you might catch a cold that then leads to an ear infection. If you have an ear infection, you might have ear pain, a fever, or trouble hearing. If you have any of these problems, tell your parent so he or she can take you to the doctor.
You might be talking about ear piercing infections, or just a regular ear infection, but I will try to answer both.
For ear piercing: MOST PEOPLE DON'T CLEAN THEIR HANDS BEFORE TOUCHING OR DOING ANYTHING WITH THEIR EARRINGS. That's how most people's earring holes get infected, so always wash your hands before doing anything with your earrings! Also, some people might have sensitive ears, and you get the wrong type of earrings when you get your ears pierced. (That's what happened to me). Or, when you are allowed to take your earrings out, some people will like keep only the cheap earrings in, which is not the best idea if you have sensitive ears because those are not hypoallergenic earrings.
General Ear infections: to much ear wax in your ears without cleaning it out can cause an ear infection, but that's the only reason I really know of...sorry!
Ear, Nose and Throat have a very close relation. Moreover, they are interconnected either directly or indirectly. So, infection of any one of these may lead to the infection of others.
VolkanAkkurt wrote: Use 50% white vinegar and 50% Rubbing Alcohol mix. Use 1-2 drops before the infection starts.
Why is there a sharp pain underneath my knee?
This is not an answer but more information about my problem. I've been on crutches for about 2 months and 2 weeks. I haven't used my left leg much (the side with the knee pain). I got the go to use my boot so I started walking in my boot about a week ago. The first 3 days I had no pain whatsoever then come the next day I got a sharp pain underneath my left knee. It hurts when it bears weight or when it feels tension but feels relieved when I bend it. Is it because the muscles underneath my knee are weak, is it growing pains?? I'm also 15 years old, athletic, healthy, not overweight, and still growing.

What is the best mattress to decrease back pain?
A Tempurpedic mattress, with a pillow top. This mattress is expensive, but it is wonderful. Go test one out in a mattress store. You have a 30 day free trial of this mattress. It is different type of mattress, so you will have to get used to it. Once you lay in it, your body is absorbed into the material. This type of mattress was invented by NASA. If it is good enough for space use, you can rest assure, you will enjoy it.
I agree. I have a Tempurpedic mattress and never wake up with a sore back even if I go to sleep with one. A pillow top is not necessarily needed. I do not have one and mine is great. Not only is the mattress more expensive but it will also last you for 20-30 years and never needs to be flipped. It will take a few weeks to "break in" the bed for maximum comfort but believe me...once you sleep on one...you will know why you bought it. I bought mine from Haverty's Furniture and got 0% interest on the life of the purchase and shopped for the best price and they matched it (best of both worlds).
Wrong, wrong, wrong! Memory foam mattresses are NOT for everyone, nor are they cure for lower back pain. There are numerous other choices out there that can, and will likely cure your back pain without breaking the bank. Our backs need push back support; do your homework and you'll find better choices than the very expensive and problematic Tempurpedic mattresses.
What is most important in your choice of mattress when suffering back pain (or not!) is that your back gets the support it needs, and you find the mattress comfortable. It is paramount that you try the mattress before you buy one. You will get support from a mattress that moulds to your body shape, it does not have to be from a memory foam product, although memory foam is very good at this. Latex foam is a very similar product but with a few different properties. Equally beneficial is a pocket sprung system where individual springs respond differently to your body weight and so contours to your back shape giving you the support. Combinations of memory foam or latex with pocket springs is also a very popular option, with many people prefering the springy feel as opposed to the sand like feel of full block foam. What is most important is that you are supported - so no rock hard beds, and you like the feel of the bed, and beds are one of those things where you tend to get what you pay for, as the quality of the manufacture and materials is reflected in the price.
Why do i have Pain around the ear and salivary gland?

Where can you obtain information on rib pain?
Chest pain is a serious condition that requires medical attention. Current information on chest pain should be obtained from your medical provider since they have current information on causes and concerns.
Sharp stabbing pain means nerve compression, and in the area you're referring to it means a herniated disk How far down your right leg the pain goes (the pain is following the nerve down the leg) will determine just which disk is herniated.
If it goes down the length of your leg to your heel, it's in the lower lumbar region, generally in the L4/5/S1 area. If the pain goes down the side of the spine, around the waist, around the hip and outer thigh, then across the thigh and stops just inside the knee, then the disk compression is at L3 or L4. Each spinal nerve pathway can be traced by the pain being caused by the disk herniation - the pathway involved will tell you which nerve / disk/s are involved.
The only way to get the disk to retract back into the membrane (disk wall) and to lower the inflammation is bedrest and anti-inflammatories. At some point you may get to a stage where the disk won't go back and you'll require surgery to fix it. It's best that you avoid that by doing whatever is necessary to treat your problem and prevent yourself from getting there. Trust me - after 3 major spinal operations myself, it's something you don't want to deal with.
The only way to determine for sure the extent of the disk damage, a diagnosis and long term treatment plan is to see a Neurosurgeon and get MRI's or a CT taken. Stay away from Orthopedists - Bone doctors don't do well with nerve problems.
There are different treatments and therapies, but the most widely used is either an Epidural (local steroid injection to the affected disk area) or a Facet injection (targeted steroid injection to the specific disk compressing the nerve causing the problem). If after 2 weeks and 2 injections nothing has changed, that's when they start talking (and you should start listening) about surgery.
Something you should consider if you haven't already is to see about getting Disability Insurance. Prior to my 2nd spinal surgery, I had taken off so much sick leave and annual leave that I was taking leave without pay. After I got to the point I couldn't walk, I had to stop working., It took almost a year for my Disability package to go through, and during that time we had to file for Bankruptcy. It was too hard for me to get Disability Insurance before it got bad, but you might be able to.
Just a thought. Find out the extent of your problems first, then worry the long term implications. But be prepared - usually it takes a week or even a month on your back to get well depending on how bad the disk herniates. And remember that once it herniates, the disk membrane will always be weak in that spot, so the only thing you can do is prevent it from herniating again in the future. Make sure you do whatever is necessary to ensure that happens.
