Can you change these paragraphs into your own words?

This is what I want you guys to change:

In the described case scenario ethical principles would justify the nurse's actions if the patient's will were not documented, the nurse did not give the treatment when faced with beneficence and non- maleficience, when her respect for autonomy concluded that if she provides that treatment the patient would be safe but unhappy through his remaining living days.

The law would support the patient afterwards if he decided to report the nurse and it could endanger her registration.

Because ethics are tightly connected to morals and values, my personal values understand the need for respect in such situations. I was brought up to be non judgmental and honest and would never impose my opinion to another person. Along with that are my professional values; set by the NMC that also teach me about respect for autonomy and consent.

In a similar situation in my future career I would exhaust every persuasive technique I know to make the patient to do the blood transfusion as I value life above any other think; I would show knowledge about the patient motivations to believe in such thing and try any possibility available that would suit him, such as the auto-transfusion or blood substitutes; but on the other side if I did not succeed, I could not allow the treatment to be done to respect the patient decision. I would be sympathetic, kind and true to the family and ensure that I minimized their pain in any way I could inside my professional barriers

This case study scenario shows how delicate a health profession is and how conflict of beliefs and cultures may influence our practice. What for me is the number one priority; saving lives, may not be the number one priority for another individual. I learned that there are limits to my practice stipulated by law and that I should understand ethics to be fair, and fit to practice.

By doing this assignment I was able to understand the dimension of serious decisions and ethical dilemmas faced by nurses and patients. I learnt about consent and mental competence and the importance to value diversity and individuality. By looking at this case scenario I identified where the ethical dilemmas were placed, and also the patient and nurses rights and obligations in order to ensure safety for both sides. I learnt that if a nurse fails to document any patient decision she might face false accusations and endanger or lose her registration depending on the gravity of the decision.

I realized how much personal values and professional values represent a big part in professional conduct; and how valuing diversity is important to become non- judgmental.
