Why would a female parakeet kill a male?
It is rare for this to happen, but it may be because of terrotorial dispute. Or the male may have refused to help take care of the babies and the mother may be fed up.
No. They would choke on it because it is too small and hard.
Actually, yes, they can eat some baby foods and cereals. My daughter has hand raised multiple orphaned birds (mocking birds, thrashers, starlings, ect...) and has fed all of them baby food, usually chicken or turkey (yes, like cannibalism), some vegetable types, by sucking the food up into a plastic 1cc syringe (the kind without a needle, like vets give you to give animals liquid oral medicines), and when the bird is hungry, squeeze the food into the back of his mouth. She also fed them chopped earthworms, pieces of crickets, soft bodied insects and caterpillars.
Most birds have incredibly fast metabolisms and need to be fed every 20 minutes to every hour, they will use the bathroom immediately after being fed, so cover your hand with paper towels or feed them on an old towel, but at least they sleep through the night.
How can you feed my parakeets fruits and vegetables?
well my budgie is kinda picky so i cut the carrot up into TINY little pieces. Im talking smaller than diced. just tiny tiny little pieces that he can just pop into his mouth like a seed haha. hes plenty capable of ripping the carrot up himself he just wont.
Yes.
One peacock egg is about 3 times as large as a chicken egg. A peacock egg supposedly makes a perfect omelet.
Yes-I've just lost the majority of my crop from one tree to hungry birds. At first I wasn't sure where they had disappearred to but the remaining olives had quite a few peck marks in them and I saw the birds in the tree.
How often should you clean your parakeet cage?
You should clean their cage about once a week. Change the lining every day, or more if needed. If you have more than one parakeet, remember to give them separate bowls so that they don't fight over the food. You should change the food and water every day. I hope you love your budgies, I know I do (:
Before whipping egg whites what temperature does it need to stand by?
Egg Whites should be at room temperature before whipping
If you are a president, as soon as you die you can get your face on a US stamp, otherwise, even Elvis had to wait 10 years.
There is a shortcut though.
For a fee, a "dunes" country will put you on a stamp.
Can you put a green parakeet in the cage with a blue parakeet?
Of course they can. The color is just color. I have 8 parakeets in a huge cage 2 green ones 2 blue ones a lutino (all yellow) an albino (all white) and a lace wing that is blue and white and also a solid white with black tips on wings/head. They all get along great 5 boys and 3 girls.
It depends; if you want to hand train them or keep them hand trained, you should get one, since they bond much easier if they are not distracted by another parakeet. If you want them to be happy and don't care about bonding with them, get two.
Why is your parakeet making a crackling sound?
It wants attention or he/she is sick. Most likely tough he wants attention from you.
Will budgies get cold in winter outside?
This depends on where they live. There are many parts of Australia, in the temperate and tropical regions of the north, where pet budgies will not get cold at all outside. In the wild, they live throughout the central deserts and grasslands, where winter nights become very cold. However, domesticated budgies are not used to these conditions, and if nights drop below 15 degrees Celsius, it is safer to bring them inside.
What color is a male budgerigars beak?
well, an immature male's cere would be a pinkish- purple colour, and a mature male's cere is a royal blue (in most cases) but if it is very unhealthy, then it would be a dark crusty brown colour kk?😉
They can. Droppings should be monitored and food changed to allow them to have variation as they would in the wild. always read up on "prohibited foods" as not all green foods will be right for the birds
Can you feed your parakeet cheese?
You could, I suppose, but not in large amounts. Birds lack the enzymes needed to digest dairy products, so dairy products go through their system generally untouched. Don't feed your bird large amounts of dairy products, in this case, cheese.
Can a parakeet mate with a lovebird?
Yes, we had 2 lovebirds and a parakeet which were all in the same cage.
They were all female and one of the lovebirds was the mediator between the other 2.
The mediator lovebird passed away and the parakeet and other lovebird get along perfectly.
How long does it take for parakeets clipped feathers to grow back?
for babbies it takes around 3 weeks- a month. for grown ups about 2 weeks but every parakeet is different. making a chart and keeping track of the days in between helps you know more about YOUR parakeet and how it grows. Make sure when you clip there are NO blood feathers.
How to add more parakeets in the cage?
1.First get a new cage for the new parakeet, then put them next to each other to let them get used to it.
2.After that, if they are both friendly to each other then let them out at the same time. 3.If they are still being nice then let them explore each others cage.
4.Put the NEWEST budgie in your original budgies cage but only leave them in for about 30mins then take the other budgie out.
5.Slowly increase the time until they are in the same cage all the time
Remember to cancel the whole operation if they start to fight and keep the other cage incase you need to separate them. DO NOT put a male and a female in the same cage unless you know how to look after the chicks properly. Do not put two females in the same cage unless they get along. Remember, do it slowly because how would you like it if you came home to find a stranger eating your food and watching your TV?
Also, put two of everything in the cage. Two cuttle bones 2 food dishes 2 water dishes ect.
If you want to do it with more of them then you need to put MORE cages next to each other, have MORE of everthing and stuff like that so for the moment i would just add one and take it from there
Also, quarenteen your new bird to make sure its not ill and if it shows any signs of illness take it to the vets and do not add it to your other bird unless your vet says yes

Good luck!
Why is my parakeet's face turning red?
I'm assuming you mean that there used to be stripes and now the stripes are receding and it is just yellow on top of his head. This happens because your bird is getting older. This is normal so there is no problem. If this is not what you were asking about, then I need more information. :)
How do you get parakeets to eat pellets?
give the food to them once a week or daily.soon they will get used to them. or you can put the veggies in their food dish and bury it in side. soon your parakeet will dig it up, think that he found something awesome and slowly peck at it.
Well..... they don't smell, but there cages can, if you do not clean them regularly. Trust me, I know. I have 2 at home.
