Can you join the Navy if you are on probation?

Not until your probation is over, and even then it depends on what the probation is for. You cannot join any military branch if you're legally obligated to another branch of federal, state or local government. The military generally doesn't accept anything in a person's record other than minor traffic violations and offenses.

It has nothing to do with whether or not you've paid up - it has to do with you ability to pass a background investigation for a security clearance, of which most Navy rates are required to have for their particular jobs. The Navy does not conduct BI's - The Department of Defense does, so they have no control over what DoD decides is acceptable or not.

How do you transfer your probation to a different state?

First, you will have to ask the permission of the sentencing court. If they consider it, the first thing the authorities must do is determine whether, or not, the other state will accept your supervision. It costs money to supervise probationers and parolees, and they may not want to accept any more workload from out of state. Only after the receiving state agrees to accept your supervision, will your state grant you the permission to move.

When is Mark Mangelsdorf eligible for parole?

No. Even though the DA who prosecuted him supported his request for parole. This was part of the plea agreement when he pled guilty - that, as long as he was a model prisoner, the DA would support him at parole time. But he had only served five of this 10-20 year term in May of 2011, and his request was denied. He won't be up for parole again until he has served another five years, which will be a total of 10. And that will be in 2016. He will be 56 years old.

To clear up any confusion, there is NOT a felony friendly list at Tennessee Career Centers. There is no way to keep up with a current list of employers willing to hire applicants with a felony background. Circumstances change too rapidly in the work force. There are counselors available to help prior felons, but the process is the same for felons and non-felons, job search.
Bruce Lumber used to, not sure if they still do. Same with Quebecor, or what is now known as WorldColor.
