Parachuting Penguins is a graphic design and marketing company that was founded in 2003 in Rogers, Arkansas by David and Paula Routon. After becoming frustrated in a previous business venture whenever they tried to get Paula's graphic files produced, they decided to head out on their own and create a unique printing company that specializes in digital technology with graphic design as the backbone of their concept. So the man in the story was involved in an accident. He was snowboarding a month ago with his friends and they encountered an avalanche. They were caved in, in cottage. No food supply. I'm not exactly sure (because I can't remember) how long they stayed there without any means to ask for rescue. But they needed sustenance desperately. They were originally five. One of them suggested that they tried to dig their way out. All were to eager to agree, they were getting desperate. So the three set out leaving the man and another man in the cottage... Two days passed and the three did not come back. The other man volunteered to set off and look for the three people missing. He came back alone but with meat carcasses in hand. He said to the man that he could not find the others but found penguins instead. Both men starving they cooked the penguin meat and made penguin soup... They had a lot of the meat and were sustained until they were rescued.

The man was saved. But the three that was missing were found corpses with their flesh taken from their bones. Horrified at the implication he set out, he found himself in a restaurant serving penguin soup. Took one sip. Noticed the great difference in flavor. Made the connection that he had inadvertently eaten his friends. Killed him self then and there.

Their guano also provides natural fertilizer for algae and ocean plants. These days, the ecosystem is having a big impact on the penguins. The ocean currents are shifting causing the fish the penguins eat to have to swim farther and longer to find fish. This is making it harder for them to raise their chicks and build up their fat for their feather molt. The last two years, hundreds of penguin chicks have been abandoned by their parents who had to swim off to find food.
