her mother is very depressed so, as she is goddess of the harvest and plants, plants began to die and there was a famine. Zeus said Persephone was aloud to live with her mother for half the year so when Pesephone is in Hades we have winter and when she is with her mother we have summer.

Some myths says he did, and others don't. I believe he did because on some websites it has a link to his children's names. Not all of the Gods and Goddesses had kids though, so his might not have been with Persephone.

I think there is some dispute over whether he had a daughter or not. Some people think he had two daughters but this information is jet to be found out. Someone should look for a birth certificate for both of Albert Einstein's children.

The most famous story Persephone is associated with is the story of Hades and the pomegranate seeds. In this story, Hades, King of the Underworld, wanted Persephone as his wife. So, one day when Persephone went to pick flowers from a field, Hades reached abducted her, taking her as his queen. She grew homesick for her mother and Earth. Demeter had heard Persephone's cries and began an explicit search for her. Only Helios, the sun god, had seen what had really happened and told Demeter. While preparing to leave, Persephone accepted a pomegranate from Hades. This prevented her from returning to Earth because he who ate while in the Underworld would could not come back. Luckily, a negotiation was reached with Hades, who was usually cold-hearted. Persephone would only stay with Hades for half of the year, but then would return to Earth for the remaining half. Each year as Persephone left earth, Demeter would begin grieve, bringing on cold weather. But, when Persephone would later return, she would bring a vibrant glow with her. Thus, the seasons were created. Winter and fall occur when Persephone is with Hades, and spring and summer occur when she returns to Earth.

Hades (Pluto is the Roman version of Hades) is the Greek god of the dead and the underworld. Persephone is the daughter of Demeter, Greek goddess of the harvest and growing plants. Hades saw Persephone, decided he was in love with her and kidnapped her. Demeter mourned the loss of her daughter and the world went barren of growing plants. Eventually the gods found Persephone in the underworld with Hades, but before she was found she had eaten six pomogranate seeds. Because she had eaten of the fruit of the underworld, she was bound to stay. The gods worked out an agreement that Persephone would spend 6 months of the year with Hades in the underworld, one month for each seed eaten, and would spend the rest of the year with Demeter. This is the explanation for the changing of the seasons - when Persephone is with Demeter, plants grow because Demeter is happy to have her daughter back. When Persephone returns to the underworld, Demeter grieves and the world goes barren, aka the seasons turn to winter.

This is sort of my personal opinion, but here me out.

Imagine that just because you chose the shortest straw, you got stuck with the crappy Underworld as your domain. The underworld is dark, cold, creepy, and not to mention filed with dead people! You have almost no contact with the other gods, on account of they think you're creepy and evil, and you are feared by almost everyone.

Then one day, you see Persephone dancing in the fields with her mother. She is the picture of happiness, goddess of spring and harvest. She is also extremely beautiful and incredibly kind.

So you want her to love you. You want this beautiful, kind, intelligent girl to love you. Except remember, you're king of the dead, and completely socially inept, so the only way for you to be near her is to kidnap her.

Or you could have asked her out to dinner, but whatever.

Persephone only spends 6 months in Hades.
