The network may be offline for maintenance at various times.

Service was restored to most users on May 14, 2011 after the outage of April 20, 2011. Users were required to reset their passwords and download new software to connect to the network.

They are due to come out with new larger HDDs for the PS3 models soon. From the Holiday sales they seem to be pushing the price of the 320 GB model as close to the PS3 160 GB models that anyone who likes the game offered in a bundle chooses the 320 GB model. There have been however no announcements of any new PS3 models

It has a variation of the PSN. However it does not have the extensiveness that the PS3 Network has. I believe you can only do things through games. for example SOCOM, all your friends were stored on the servers and such when you log on the game. Now the PSN stores everything on your ps3, making it more like a computer and less like web-tv, if that analogy serves its purpose. =P

If you have a playstation network card, you can download anything from the playstation store, as long as you don't exceed the money limit on the card.

Once you have gone to the Playstation Network page through your PS3 and have downloaded the game, on the Game menu, you should see the game title in a bubble. Go down and press "x" to select it, and then choose install. After installation, you will see the game title in the same place. Press "x" again and the game should start and run normally.

The PlayStation network has been shutdown since April 20 2011. They are working round the clock rebuilding and strengthening the system and should have it back up within a week, Early May 2011 they will begin the procedure to restore services regionally.
