Why do people pollute the earth even when they know it causes harm?
humans pollute the environment mainly because they dont believe that the little polluting that they do can cause a big amount of harm to the ozone layer. The fact that million or more individuals pollute the environment causes a higher percentage of damage towards the ozone layer. Up north or places that are extremely cold begin to become destroyed ,the ice melts and the cold areas become warmer causing the polar bears habitat to be gone. This is a major problem.
smog is a mixture of poison gasses and burnt fossil fuels. If ingested for a long it can make you sick. If inhailed it can damage you lungs and has been known to cause asthma. It chokes out the oxygen and replaces it with dangerous gasses. It can makes birds sick and pass on the chemicals found in the cloud of smog to the animal that eats that bird. Known as Bioapliphication. This can cause a decrease in the bird pop. and cause a decrease in it's ecosystem. The word smog means smoke and fog smog is cuased by ground-level ozone. smog is most likely to occur farther away from the source of its pollutants. This happens because the chemical reaction takes time and the wind causes the smog to be swept away in the wind.
When did bp oil spill get plugged?
The oil stop flowing on July 15, 2010 as a result of the top kill. In September the Macondo well was intersected by a relief well and could be permanently killed with a cement plug. This occurred on September 19.
See relarted link.
What are the effects of throwing garbage anywhere?
It can cause major flooding. Also it does harm to people or animals who consume the polluted water. Aquatic animals will also die due to the water pollution. and there will be a decrease of fresh water sources.
What is the development viewpoint toward the environment?
The Development Viewpoint towards the environment is the belief that humans should be able to freely use and benefit from all of earth's resources. It considers the environment in terms of economics. -Desdemondia
What substances create acid rain?
Besides water, and carbonic acid (from carbon dioxide dissolved in the rain droplets), the primary components of acid rain are sulfuric acid, which comes from sulfur dioxide derived from the burning of coal, and nitric acid, which from nitrogen emissions.
Acid rain contain traces of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. These gases when dissolved in water - as in cloud water droplets - form sulfuric acid and nitric acid [and probably also sulfurous and nitrous acids].
How much pollution in one year?
We think that over 95% of waste goes into the oceasn very single day. This is why we need to start by recycle more!!!!!!!
How does compost help prevent pollution?
Minimization of greenhouse gas production and landfill use and maximization of resources are ways in which compost helps the world. Compost represents the end-product of human- or Mother Nature-guided break down of carbon- and nitrogen-rich organic materials into dark-colored, fresh-smelling, nutrient-rich humus. It saves on space dedicated to greenhouse gas-producing landfills.
How pollutions are toxic to the ocean and animals?
With the wide range of chemical compounds we use in our daily lives, negative impacts on our surroundings increase daily as our population increases. Starting with the most littered item in the world, cigarette butts, there are negative effects from the thousands of toxic compounds found in one cigarette butt. During nesting season, birds nest with used cigarette filters, chicks hatch directly on nicotine and are affected from birth. During rainstorms every exposed cigarette butt leaches toxic compounds into our ground water that we eventually drink. Filtering the water to make it fit for human consumption is hard, but think about the traveling time and the chemical trail from point of disposal, the one butt has contaminated the stream it entered, the river it leads to, and finally the ocean where they wash up on beaches during rainstorms. Marine animals ingest the butts thinking they are a food item and cannot be digested, causing death by starvation. Look at the oil spill in the gulf, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, but sometimes there is no cure. Prevention and education is key to environmental sustainability.
Why is littering important to stop?
Littering is an issue because it harms the environment when you toss non-biodegradable materials all over the place. (non-biodegradable means that it takes a very long time for this material to break down into usable soil again. ex: plastic; styrofoam.) Also, some things that people commonly trow out (empty oil cans, uncut pop rings) are harmful to animals. You may be wondering about throwing out food. This is also littering for a few reasons. A specific way food litter is harmful is when mice and other rodents come to eat it at night, owls fly across the road and get hit by cars because they fly headlamp height and drivers cannot see them.
He pollutes it by being around all the factory's and roads wreck the environment along with the cars and people littering
Describe at least three actions you could take to reduce your use of natural resources?
Six ways to conserve your natural resources would be to carpool, walk, bicycle, turn off lights, unplug appliances, and take short showers.
How pollution affect our natural resources?
It takes away the healthy and stable environment for our natural resources to thrive in.
Oil pipelines (large ones) can be owned and/or operated by:
What are the national resources of the Philippines?
There are a variety of land resources found in the Philippines. These resources include the Ocean, minerals, major crops (such as rice, corn, and sugarcane), as well as flora.
How can you make your cities pollution free?
Well, a city can't be 100% pollution free because pollution is already in the air but if the factorys cut down on there usage or found a more green way to make products also you can ride your bike or walk places
hope i helped
Particulate pollution can be formed by:
What are living indicators for pollution?
1.lichens 2.mosses 3.algae 4.caddisfly 5.sparrow 6.waterbugs 7.pepered moth
How does land pollution start?
cave men started pollution in there own way by leaving bones were they eat.
What impact do new materials have on the environment?
effects of change in materials to the environment:
there are bad effects and good effects of changes.there's an example of bad and good effects.
GOOD EFFECTS
1.Using modern technology, our works will become easier and faster.
a.machines-
w/out machines may be we our now getting illness
b.poisonous spray-
w/out this may be we are tired on catching cockroaches and mosquitos and flies and other harmful insects to be killed
BAD EFFECTS
1.Using modern materials, there are bad effects too.
a.smoke-
other people is always making smoke,if they use it too much, may be our ozone layer will become thinner and thinner and thinner that can cause a very hot season or even global warming
b.pollution-
w/ this peoples can get sick
How does contaminated or dirty water affect humans?
Water pollution affects people because when people drink the polluted water they get sick and get different types of diseases and people also use the polluted water to clean their dishes , them self and their clothes and this can also cause diseases.
How do you solve noise pollution at school?
punishments if sumone talks! or jus plaster their mouth!!
How do airplanes cause pollution?
They use vast quantities of aviation fuel - which throws out huge amounts of waste gasses - including un-burnt fuel - into the atmosphere. This is known to deplete the ozone layer, which protects us from harmful radiation.
