What are the things that people can do to protect your environment from pollution?
Well, they can,
Decompose - Bury paper, cardboard, and food in the ground, so that it doesn't produce harmful methane gas in the atmosphere.
Carpool - This protects from to much CO2 in the air, which is why it gets hot in the summer.
Use solar, Hydro, or Wind energy to get electricity.
Overall, just pay attention to what you are doing. If it seems pollutional, don't do it.
What is tripping pipe on an oil rig?
The term "tripping the well" got it's start most likely as a reference to the "round trip" made by the drill bit. The first leg of the trip is coming out of the hole, by lifting the entire drill string and unscrewing the upper most drill pipe called a joint, the newly removed drill pipe is laid beside the rig and the drill string is lifted again, etc. until all drill pipe is out of the hole. After service work is performed, for example change to fresh drill bit, then the second leg of the trip is to reverse the process, lowering the drill string as each new joint is made until fully back in the hole with the bit on bottom. You can find a lot of interesting videos on offshore rigs, jobs, etc here:
I left the previous answer in place:
When drill pipe is lowered or put into the well in the well, it is called running in or is tripping into the well. When drill pipe is raised or pull out of the well, it is call running out or tripping out of the well.

Did the oil spill in the gulf destroy homes?
Oil spill did a lot of damage, but no homes were destroyed.
How can density of oil be advantage to clean up?
If you have ever mixed oil and water you have seen that oil floats on top of water. Therefore it must have a density that is less than that of water. The benefit of this is that we can find it easier that if it sank in which case we could never find it since it would be at the ocean floor and would mix with all the sand and other constituents of the ocean. By floating we can do many different kinds of cleanup processes.
The problem with oil is that some oils are more dense than water (bunker, heavy industrial ful oils, some crudes) these sink or at least bib along just under the surface of the water. and avoid separation. The other problem is that oils (including the lighter oils) tend to get mixed with water (emulsify) due to wave action and debris forming wahat is knows as mousse. This mixture again is close to the density of water.
Precipitataions that can carry pollutants into water?
Precipitation can carry pollutants in water whereby when moisture rises and mixes with gases from industries thereby condensing and falling back as acid rain may carry the pollutants into water.
How does pollution affect human health?
Answer

Habitats refer to places that living things live in. Everything needs a habitat. Take yourself, for instance. What would you do if you did not have the place to live in like you are living in now? Every living thing needs a place to live, that is their habitat, that is where they are at. And then realize that we all share the Earth's habitat. And we really need it as it is our only place to live. There are no habitats in space, that we know of, yet.
What is the difference between primary and secondary competition?
Primary competitors within an industry are competitors that offer a nearly identical product or service. Secondary competitors offer a substitute good or service, which might be of a lower caliber but still related. ex: a guy with a hot dog stand would be a primary competitor to a guy down the street with a hot dog stand, but someone selling ice cream could be considered to be a secondary competitor.
Why is there always a risk of oil spills from wells?
Because accidents are unavoidable though can be minimised.
How does acid rain affect the tundra biome?
The major impacts of acid rain are generally on water to change the pH and alter the viability of aquatic animals and their eggs. On plants there is some potential for the direct impact to leaves, but significant damage can be done by altering the soil structure, leaching out nutrients and freeing of heavy metals to be absorbed by plants or animals.
Point source pollution comes from source that are?
Sources that have water, mainly piped water from a single point.
respiratory infections, heart disease, COPD, stroke and lung cancer
Moss on roofs starts with the spores which find a surface, moisture and organic material which tends to gather on the edges of the shingles to feed on. Similar to Mold, the spores are always in the air, looking for a good place to land and grow. Once established on the organic layer on the roof, the organism will put down roots into the asphalt shingles where they will then feed on the oils in the shingle. It is for that reason that you should never pressure wash, scrape or broom off moss from a roof...ripping those roots out exposes weak points in the shingle's granular protective top layer. This leads to premature wear and replacement.
How are car wash stations harmful to the environment?
Look for "The Perceived Environmental Impact of Car Washing" by Jen Oknich from the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District. It's a great paper, and all over the web.
Where does water pollution happens?
water pollution is when water is polluted by man made or natural toxins
What is the oldest form of air pollution?
Oxygen, produced by the first blue-algae about 3 billion years ago. It poisoned much of the other kinds of life around at the time.
You are correct- they can and they are doing it!
The choke and kill lines running off the side of the BOP can be used to produce the oil. BP is actively implementing the "Q4000 Direct Connect" option. Haven't a clue as to how much would flow from these lines.
The oil will go into the Helix Q4000 vessel, and will have to be offloaded. See details from BP in their video presentation. They said on May 31 that it will take about 2 weeks to implement.
I am hoping for a technical briefing from BP on this option and the LMRP soon. Keep checking the BP website.
