What is the difference between useparnewgc and separallelgc?

-XX:+UseParallelGC (aka "Parallel Scavenge") is a collector for the new generation portion of the heap (eden and survivor spaces) which splits work between many threads; it can work with either the serial old generation collector (which is the default) or the parallel old generation collector (which does the same thing +UseParallelGC does, just for the old/tenured generation.) It cannot be used with the CMS (concurrent mark sweep) low-latency collecto.

-XX:+UseParNewGC is the same as UseParallelGC except that it's compatible with the CMS (concurrent mark sweep) low-latency collector (but it cannot be used with the Parallel Old collector.)

What is the difference between PostMessage and SendMessage?

The difference between these two API calls is the way that they return control to the calling application. With SendMessagecontrol is not returned to the calling application until the window that the message was sent to has completed processing the sent message, however with PostMessage control is returned to the calling application immediately, regardless of weather or not the sent message has been processes. postMessage: Sends a message in the message queue associated with the thread and returns without waiting for the thread to process that messaage.

SendMessage: calls the window procedure for the specified window and does not return until the window procedure has processed the message. PostMessage is a Asynchronous function where as SendMessage is a synchronous function.

What is the difference between the pcm and the ecm?

the ecm is the cars electronic control module and the pcm is the cars powertrain control module. the ecm controls the ignition and fuel injection system so that when you get close to the speed your cars original tires are safety rated for, your ecm will shut down fuel injection and ignition prcessses until you return to the safe speed. the pcm is a cars powertrain control module. it stops your engine rpms from reaching critical levels. both are computers in your car that enable you to drive safely, and just like any other computer they can be modified, most service to your car now requires the mechanic to diagnose your car like a doctor by plugging into these computers to see whats wrong.

'Can you get pregnant if sperm enters the vagina but was a virgin and the guy is wearing boxers and two pairs of shorts'?

Hi.

Sperm can enter the vagina any time it comes into direct contact with a vagina. However, based on what you have said I would find it very unlikely if you became pregnant from this encounter, especially as your boyfriend was wearing boxers and two pairs of shorts.

What is the difference between a 4R55E and a 5R55E transmission?

4R55E-4 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANS. 5R55E-5 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANS. The difference is in the shift strategy that results in 5 speeds, most of the internal components are the same for both gearboxes. Valve bodies are different. Both are electronic, and both were installed primarily behind 4.0 liter 6-cyl engines, 5r55e is an improvement over the 4r44e which in turn owes its legacy to the c3/ a4ld of yesteryear.

What are the differences between London 1600 and London 2005?

That is an absurd length of time in which to describe differences. The differences are manifold. London has grown substantially, the general architecture has changed, mostly due to the fact that half the city burned down in 1666, so there was no Buckingham Palace, Nelson's Column, or most other famous London monuments. Sanitation was much worse in the seventeenth century than now, as indicated by the plague arriving in 1665. In short, too many differences to mention.

What is the difference between polyester texturized yarn and flat yarn?

Polyester

Polyester is a category of polymers which contain the ester functional group in their main chain. Although there are many polyesters, the term "polyester" as a specific material most commonly refers topolyethylene terephthalate (PET). Polyesters include naturally-occurring chemicals, such as in the cutin ofplant cuticles, as well as synthetics through step-growth polymerization such as polycarbonate andpolybutyrate. Natural polyesters and a few synthetic ones are biodegradable, but most synthetic polyesters are not.

Depending on the chemical structure polyester can be a thermoplastic or thermoset, however the most common polyesters are thermoplastics.[1]

Fabrics woven from polyester thread or yarn are used extensively in apparel and home furnishings, from shirts and pants to jackets and hats, bed sheets, blankets and upholstered furniture. Industrial polyester fibers, yarns and ropes are used in tyre reinforcements, fabrics for conveyor belts, safety belts, coated fabrics and plastic reinforcements with high-energy absorption. Polyester fiber is used as cushioning and insulating material in pillows, comforters and upholstery padding.

While synthetic clothing in general is perceived by some as having a less-natural feel compared to fabrics woven from natural fibers (such as cotton and wool), polyester fabrics can provide specific advantages over natural fabrics, such as improved wrinkle resistance. As a result, polyester fibers are sometimes spun together with natural fibers to produce a cloth with blended properties. Synthetic fibers also can create materials with superior water, wind and environmental resistance compared to plant-derived fibers.

Polyesters are also used to make "plastic" bottles, films, tarpaulin, canoes, liquid crystal displays, holograms, filters, dielectric film forcapacitors, film insulation for wire and insulating tapes.

Liquid crystalline polyesters are among the first industrially-used liquid crystalline polymers. They are used for their mechanical properties and heat-resistance. These traits are also important in their application as an abradable seal in jet engines.

Polyesters are widely used as a finish on high-quality wood products such as guitars, pianos and vehicle / yacht interiors. Burns Guitars, Rolls Royce and Sunseeker are a few companies that use polyesters to finish their products. Thixotropic properties of spray-applicable polyesters make them ideal for use on open-grain timbers, as they can quickly fill wood grain, with a high-build film thickness per coat. Cured polyesters can be sanded and polished to a high-gloss, durable finish.

What are the advantages of polyester fiber?

polyester is cheap. its disadvantages are that it is not absorbent and heat friendly. polyester is cheap. its disadvantages are that it is not absorbent and heat friendly.

What is the difference between bravery and courage?

Answer:Medals are awarded for both bravery and for courage so there is a difference. Bravery is completing an action that is very dangerous and possibly life threatening without thinking. This can be from an automated response or from a belief that you cannot be hurt. (e.g. fighting in battle; having a tooth out; a firefighter saving someone from a burning building). Courage is completing an action that is very dangerous and possibly life threatening knowing full well the possible outcomes and still completing the task (e.g. dashing out to drag a dying friend back; jumping into a river to save a stranger..). However I think these days, people use the terms interchangeably without really reflecting on the difference.

How do you remove candle wax from inside kitchen plumbing?

AnswerThanks for your help! Here's how I finally removed the wax from my kitchen pipes plumbing...I ran hot water, plunged, scooped the water out. My little helper held the stopper for me as I poured grease lightning(drain 1 hour), then a gallon of bleach (drain 1 hour),ran the dishwasher, (do not ever do that), then oops remover (we left from the smell)then I boiled water on stove until it filled both sides and used a wire clothes hanger. The next morning I went & purchased something that was called Foaming action snake, a commercial size bottle of vinegar and an extra large box of baking soda. I poured baking soda then vinegar and it made a volcano and I repeated this until ALL the stuff was gone. Finally, I poured the action snake foam and left. 2 hours later I boiled water again poured it in the side of the sink where the wax was put, filling both sides and continued this a few times , it is back to new! It took a lot of time and patience and I thank you for your input! Khrystal

It sounds to me like you have a big problem. The first step would probly be to remove the trap under the sink. If it was a small amount of wax it will probly be all in the trap. If it was a large amount of wax then your going to have a problem. I have only one other suggestion and that would be to keep a steady stream of boiling water down the drain. It will keep the wax melting and maybe take it all the way out of the drain sytem. On the other hand of it was a very large amount of wax you might have to try getting a drain snake and pushing it out. my last suggestion would cost the most and that would be to replace the drain sytem. good luck, shaun

Our 4 yr old dumbed about a cup and half of hot wax down our sink tonight. We removed the p trap and there it all was! We cleaned out trap and ran boiling hot water thru the sink...wahla! good as new! SASHA

What is the difference between mpeg 1 and mpeg 2?

Many. Basically, MPEG-1 is a compression system that focuses on storing video in a hard disk, that is to say, an "error-free" environment and only is valid for low resolution images. On the other hand, MPEG-2 not only improves the compression factor, but also enhances the capabilities of the antecessor MPEG-1. MPEG-2 can be used not only to store videos (e.g. a DVD) but also can be used for broadcasting. Today's digital television (terrestrial, cable and satellite) uses the compression and signalling of MPEG-2, adapted as international organizations (ATSC, DVB) reccomend. dmb_1
