A Pomeranian puppy will open its eyes about 10 days after it is born. If you notice swelling occurring on the puppy's eyes, gently clean them with a warm compress and never force the eyes open.

Well, first you must get a treat supply. Then have your dog lay down. When your dog is laying, tell them to play dead, gently roll him on his back,then praise him. Keep doing that until your dog continously goes on his back. Then have them play dead and tell them to stay.

Pomeranians are fluffy do to the 2nd coat. Poms have a corse undercoat whcich they keep year round and a softer overcoat which they shed in the summer. They have these to coats because they come from Green Land where it is extremely cold during the winter and a second coat is necessary for survival.

The average weight of a Pomeranian is at 3-7 lbs for both males and females. So I would assume that 8.2 lbs is big for a Pomeranian.

Well first, such a mix is not a separate "breed" ... it's a mixed breed dog, no different than any other mixed breed. There is no reliable way to predict behavior or trainability of mixed breeds because the individual dog may favor either one or the other of their mix. You can try reading behavior descriptions of both chihuahuas and pomeranians to give you some idea of what to expect, but even that may not be how the individual dog turns out.

One of the most important ways is to give a "yelp" or a growl when you are bitten. If the puppy doesn't stop immediately then glare at it and leave the room for a minute or two.

This should quickly teach the puppy not to bite.

Also try putting garlic or pepper on your hands. The taste should put it off.

Unless you can buy the groomer type of with proper clipper blades, don't do it yourself! Get a groomer to do it. Shop around and get a good price. My groomer comes to my house and for both my dogs a Bichon Frise and a Cockapoo she charges $35 - $40 depending on how much fur she has to groom and that includes nail clipping,, cleaning of the ears and any dark marks around the eyes (from eyes tearing.) I bought some grooming shears with blades from a Pet Store and they simply don't work well. I took a good look at my groomer's shears and they were 100% better than the ones I had.

i have a pom pup...and shes a few months old she eats about 1/2 a cup each day...and for an adult pom...probly about a cup.
