pomo indian women lived in a seperate house. this house was made of bark and was oval shaped. it was called a kella hut. other women stayed with them they would bring them food and water during this time. the women could not cook or sleep with thier husbands. this was the only time the sons coulld sleep with the fathers and tell storys. this was a pomo tradition. if the wives were around the men during this time theman could get sick and his hunting would be bad.
