At one time you had to wait 2 weeks and have the first urine of the day to test accurately. htere is a possibility, but it could be just that your period is coming later than usual this month. usually females cycles don't become consistent until at least late teens to twnetys depending on how long you have had it for, i wouldn't worry about only four days. but if you don't get it for a while longer, then you should see a doctor or someone at a pregnancy care centre to get an accurate result. good luck.

Hiya! Because your period is late I would advise you to wait a few more days and do another pregnancy test. Try testing with a brand of test that you haven't used before and also look for a test that looks for a lower amount of HCG. For example a lot of HPTs look for 50MIU but some less well known HPTs look for 20-25MIU. The lower the MIU the earlier you can get a positive result. There is an absolute negative, when there is NO HCG in the blood but a weakly positive may be when the level is lower than expected for the estimated gestational age. One test does not really give a definitive result, you need two to check if there is an upward trend.
