Can Rae Carruth get out early on good behavior?

Yes! And he has been pretty good in prison. The last time he got in trouble was in 2004 for fighting with another inmate. He got into another fight with an inmate over a pen and was written up for throwing the first punch. A few punches was thrown between Carruth and the fellow inmate. Rae was send to solitary confinement for 20 days but was released due to overcrowding. Other than that he's very low-key and hasn't been much of a trouble maker since. His PRD (projected release date) is October 2018, but he could be out in March 2016. Hope that helps. :)

It's called cheating and I can come up with serveral names, but can't type it on the board. My first husband cheated on me and I managed to find several savory words for him, but it boils down to the fact they are spineless 'cheaters.'

Adulterer, from the word adultery which is the word for someone cheating on a spouse.

This question is referring to the origins of the corrections department of justice system. How long is life in a life sentence?

It depends on the type of sentence given. If the sentence is determinate sentencing, then the term is 30 years. If it is indeterminate sentencing, which is used nationally and more often, it can be anywhere from 40 years to the rest of their natural life or as little as 8 years. It all depends on the level the crimes committed; federal, state or local, and in which jurisdiction the judge is presiding as well as how the judge hands down his sentences.

Is it cheaper to sentence life without parole or execute?

While it might seem cheaper to simply execute someone, a typical cost to the state to complete an execution is 20 to 50 million dollars. Executions typically take about 10 years to move through the courts with repeated hearings, appeals, motions, etc.

Life in prison is not inexpensive. In California, the state spends $30,000 per inmate per year in medium security prison. 40 years in prison will cost $1.2 million.

Much of this problem arises from a confused nature of our criminal justice and court systems. The people in many states have voted for capital punishment, but it is in fact rarely used. Most people given a death sentence are never executed; sentences are commuted, overturned, or spend so much time in the courts that the criminal dies in prison.

That depends on the circumstance and state, but usually a person can be up for parole after 10-15 years. This doesn't mean they will get out though, just that they have a chance to go in front of the board and plead their case. If you are charged with life imprisonment without eligibility of parole, then you will stay in prison for the rest of your natural life unless the conviction is overturned or you are pardoned.

Bobby Goldsboro prison time?

I don't think so.

His wife accused him of child molestation (during a rather messy divorce, so you just know she was bound to be telling the absolute truth out of her pure love of justice) and police did find some child pornography. He claimed the boxes containing the pornography belonged to someone else and that he had had no idea what was in them.

I can't find any primary sources about the end results, but from some tertiary sources it appears that either no charges were ever filed or that if they were they were dismissed or he was found not guilty.
