Did Jesus mention the Muhammad by name in the bible?

No Jesus does not mention the name of Muhammad at all.

According to the Islamic faith, John 13:16, & 16:16 - Jesus mentions a "Comforter" would come into the world after Jesus' resurrection. That is true but, Islam has it incorrect as far as the interpretation meaning Muhammad. Jesus was speaking of the Holy Spirit not a human person and especially not Muhammad. Jesus said he was the Truth ..The Way.. and the Light. There is no reason for any other to come in his place but Christ and that isn't until the judgment of his people in the end days.

The true question should be is Muhammad a true messenger of God and what was the message he was to deliver. Jesus was the completion of all bible prophecy.

Why do Muslims treat Christians badly?

Answer 1

Who said that! they're exactly the same apart from Muslims pray 5 times a day and don't believe Jesus is the son of god.

Answer 2

No. They are not exactly the same and are in fact quite different religions. As concerns the issue of respect, Muslims are typically more concerned about the world insulting their traditions and their prophets than they are in pursuing a true and lasting equality with other religions. This was an attitude that most Christians had 500 years ago, but Christendom has become more open and accepting of other positions in the interim.

Christians in the Arab World are still treated as second class citizens because that is the place accorded them in the Qur'an. They are called "Dhimmi" which means that they are protected by Muslims. However, it raises the question "protected from what or from whom?". In the medieval period, before the Enlightenment and the creation of Natural Rights, a person only had what privileges were extended to him from the rulers and did not have the ability to claim that because he was a human being that he was entitled to some basic forms of respect. Muslims still operate on this premise of granted authority as concerns religious values. Christianity only has permission to perform religious actions not the liberty to perform them.

What is the main significance of Muhammad?

The same significance of Jesus Christ to the Christians, Zoroaster to Zoroasters.

Answer

The same significance of Jesus Christ (Peace be upon Him) to the Christians but in the sense of his true prophethood though Jesus and the Holy book Injil (bible) was sent only to his people (Israel) whereas Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and the Holy Qura'n was sent to the whole world as a last Prophet.

The mission of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon hime) was to get people at large to understand so that they may believe One True God (Allah), the Creator and sustainer of the universe, as taught by Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) and all other Prophets of God including Jesus, Moses, David and more (peace be upon them all). His mission was also to demonstrate and preach the laws of moral, ethical, legal, social conduct and matters of significance for the humanity at large.

Long before granting the role of a prophet by Allah, Muhammad was popularly known as Sadiq (Truthful) and Al-Ameen (someone who can be trusted with people's trusts).

He is a Prophet Like Moses as prophesied in the Holy Bible as

"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee (Moses), and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." Deut.18:18.

SAY: "DO YOU SEE ?

WHETHER THIS MESSAGE BE FROM ALLAH (God Almighty),

AND YET YOU REJECT IT, AND A WITNESS FROM AMONG THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL BORE WITNESS OF ONE LIKE HIM......." (Holy Qur'an 46:10)

Muhammad had been responsible for the bringing into being a world-wide community of millions of Believers who, believe in:

(1) the miraculous birth of Jesus,

(2) that Jesus is the Messiah, and

(3) that he gave life to the dead by God's permission, and that he healed those born blind and the lepers by God's permission.

Let me add some comments (out of enormous numbers of them) by famous non Muslim brothers on Mohammad(p.b.u.h.):

Thomas Carlyle in 'Heroes and Hero Worship and the Heroic in History,' 1840"The lies (Western slander) which well-meaning zeal has heaped round this man (Muhammad) are disgraceful to ourselves only.""A silent great soul, one of that who cannot but be earnest. He was to kindle the world, the world's Maker had ordered so."A. S. Tritton in 'Islam,' 1951The picture of the Muslim soldier advancing with a sword in one hand and the Qur'an in the other is quite false.De Lacy O'Leary in 'Islam at the Crossroads,' London, 1923.History makes it clear, however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myths that historians have ever repeated.James Michener in 'Islam: The Misunderstood Religion,' Reader's Digest, May 1955, pp. 68-70.

"No other religion in history spread so rapidly as Islam. The West has widely believed that this surge of religion was made possible by the sword. But no modern scholar accepts this idea, and the Qur'an is explicit in the support of the freedom of conscience."

Why did Muhammad have a hard time in Mecca to accept his teachings?

The tribe of Quraish, which ruled Mecca at the time Muhammad was called to his mission, made their income through pilgrims who would come to Mecca to worship their own tribal gods. Though they knew of their ancestor Abraham - and the Oneness of God - they fell into idol worship and, therefore, became wealthy catering to all the idol worshippers from the Middle East and Africa.

When Muhammad came, he was calling them to the belief that "There is no true god except the One God" and that "Muhammad is His Messenger".

That meant that the very livelihood of Quraish was threatened. No longer could they worship three hundred plus gods - they had to worship and obey the One God alone. Also, no longer could they gamble and drink and commit adultery. And no longer could they make up their own rules - they had to obey the Messenger of God.

That is why they persecuted Muhammad and his followers for ten years in Mecca; then they waged war on them for another thirteen years after Muhammad and his followers moved to Medinah.
