He came from the town of Anatot and was active in Jerusalem.
A prophet is not recognized in his own land?
In other words, a prophet is honored everywhere but in his own country and in his own home. Jesus spoke these words to show that those who had only recently heard believed, while those who knew him since he was a child did not. The modern day equivalent is that those who don't know you that well will treat you with respect, while often times your family treats you with contempt.
Answer:I had this happen to me when I became a minister. One of my sisters called me up one day and asked me sarcastically "You are going to be a minister?" To this day she still never comes when I have sermons etc. The rest of the family does but not her. She pretends to love me and support me but they are just words. The same happens whenever I call her on the phone, she rarely calls back. One of my former pastors had the same problem with his sister. She always makes fun of him whenever he talks to her. The point is, it is not people who determine what you do for God. Your and my job is to obey God regardless of what people say. The same thing was true of Jesus. The crowds loved Jesus, but the Pharisees did not. So should he have given up his mission to save us because not everyone accepted him? No, of course not.
Yes, it hurts when this happens and our emotions are involved. But God has set before each of us the duty to do what he asks of us if we are Christians. I lost a lot of friends when I became a Christian but I also gained a lot of friends. We have to keep going for God regardless of what people say. That is a tool of the enemy to discourage us and make us quit. So we have a choice, either give up when people assail us with comments or go on with God and be blessed. What will you choose?
Can you describe the call of a prophet?
The prophets in the old testament were all called by god to be prophets. None of them wanted to be one by themselves, they were all god called people to do gods work. And mostly all were from humble back grounds.
It was Elijah.
From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_view_of_Abraham):
Ibrāhīm (Arabic: ابراهيم, Hebrew: אַבְרָהָם) , the biblical patriarch Abraham (circa born between 1900 BC to 1861 BC - died between 1814 BC to 1716 BC), is an important prophet in Islam. He is the son of Azar and the father of Ismail (Ishmael) -his first born son- and Is'haq (Isaac) his second born, both of whom are considered Islamic prophets. Ibrahim is considered the Father of the Prophets. Ibrahim is commonly termed Khalil Allah, or "Friend of God" or "Braheem".
Islam regards many sorts of the biblical patriarchs as prophets of Allah, and hence as Muslims (i.e., monotheists). Ibrahim is regarded as a Hanif (meaning a discoverer of monotheism without being taught by a messenger).
Because of their mutual veneration for Abraham, Islam, Christianity and Judaism are sometimes summarized under the term "Abrahamic religions".
Why is jesus considered to be a prophet?
Because Jesus proved to the Jews and to everyone else that he could do miracles, and that he WAS the son of Christ. and the people who hated Jesus were the people who were jealous of his fame and everyone calling him a "Prophet." And Elchiziak pronounced Jesus a Prophet. I think. dont be angry at me if im wrong. this is just a blurry memory.
No.
The Beast and the False Prophet will be a team of two men who will be living at the time of Jesus' return. The Beast will be a political/military leader... the False Prophet, a powerful miracle-working "religious leader" who appears to the world "Christ-like" at the time of the Great Tribulation, which hasn't yet occurred:
"...I saw another beast [which is the False Prophet, who works in collusion with the Beast], coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb [he will appear to the world to be Christian], but he spoke like a Dragon." (Rev.13:11 NIV)
They will be captured during the "Great Supper of God" -- the battle "on the Day of God Almighty"... at a place called in the Hebrew tongue "Armageddon" [see Rev.16:13-16]:
Revelation, chapter 19 is a prophetic chronology of Jesus' return to earth with His angelic army, making war:
"...I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, 'Come gather together for the Great Supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.'
"Then I saw the Beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together [at Armageddon] to make war against the Rider on the horse and His army.
"But the Beast was captured, and with him the False Prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf... The two of them were thrown into the Fiery Lake of burning sulfur." (Rev.19:17-20 NIV)
Joshua was a servant and a successor of Moses. While Moses led Israel out of Egypt, Joshua completed by leading Israel into the promised land in conquest after Moses' death.
Joshua was not a prophet, but a spiritual leader of Israel. He simply followed Moses' instructions and finished what he has started as well as continually enforce the law of Moses. Joshua is mentioned many times in the books of Exodus, Numbers and Deuteronomy as a servant of Moses, and there's a lot more about him in the book of Joshua as the leader of the nation.
Was Isaiah commissioned as a prophet the year uzziah died?
No, although the names may seem vaguely similar.
When does Nostradamus predicts the world to end?
Okay, yes the Mayans did predict the world would end on December 21, 2012. Does this mean that everybody should go crazy believing them? No, because there have been thousands of predictions for the world to end, and none of them have come true. So why believe this one? Everybody can believe what they want, but just remember that this is just another prediction out of over a thousand that are going to fail.
(plus, those who believe the movie 2012, are not the smartest of people, its a movie so dont be afraid, The Knowing is another movie where people predict the end of the world and that was a prediction that would occur on October something in 2008).
Uzair: was a prophet sent to Bani Israel: Israel

Israeli took him to be the son of god, just like the christians took Jesus for the same

Answer 2
I would say that Moses is the main Prophet of Judaism, since he was God's Spokesman, when opposing the Pharaoh over the slavery of the Jewish people in Egypt, & because he was the one whom God Chose as His Lawgiver to the Jews.
Although Abraham is regarded as the first Jew, it is because he is the forefather of the Jewish people (as well as the Christians, Muslims, & Baha'is).
his mothers name was maryam(in islam) and mary(in chritianity).
Where was the prophet shuaib born?

How did medina welcome the prophet?
This question can be read two ways:
If the question is asking, "When Mohammed was in Mecca, what was the way in which he received the message, i.e. God's message?", the answer is: While in a cave in Mecca the angel Gabriel told Muhammad that he was to recite to word of God, or Allah.
If the question is asking, "When Mohammed preached his message to the People of Mecca, how did they receive him, i.e. how did they respond to the message?", the answer is: Mohammed did manage to convert a few people closely related to him, but his attacks on idolatry were not well received, especially by the tribe of Qoreish. This tribe subsequently ordered his death, resulting in him having to flee to Yethrib. It is only after this flight from Mecca that the Umma, or Muslim community, develops.
When did Prophet Muhammad go from mecca to medina?
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stayed in Medina for 10 years; since 622 AD up to 632 AD (year of his death).
Though Moses indeed spoke God's words to the Israelites as did other prophets after him and also made a number of prophetic predictions, he is not regarded as a central prophet.
Moses' greatness lies in his achievements in leading the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt, in receiving and transmitting God's Law to the Israelites and bringing them to the point of entry to the land of promise, Canaan. Probably his most enduring legacy was his authorship of the Pentateuch, the first 5 books of the Old Testament, The Torah.
They are thousands although only 25 are mentioned by name in Quran. They are:
From Aish.com:
Ezra, the leader of the Jewish people at the time of their return from Babylonian exile and the building of the Second Temple. Ezra was the founder of the Great Assembly, a body of 120 prophets and sages who established important matters like the standard text found in Jewish prayer books today. He was an outspoken critic of assimilation, particularly of the masses of Jews who preferred to stay in Babylonia rather than return to Israel. His life and times are recorded in the biblical Book of Ezra. He died in the 4th century BCE.

Who was the prophet who was thrown into the fire?
Isa as. he was not thrown into the fire. But they (Israel) tied him to a cross and burned him. However, God (Allah s.w.t) sent his angel and saved prophet Isa, change Isa as. with other person.
(Isa a.s is known as Jesus to Christians. In Islamic belief, a male named Judais (I think) believed that Isa was evil. He told the Jews. But Allah's powers changed the looks and features of Judais to look like Isa. Isa, on the other hand, was sent up to the skies and will come back to Earth on doomsday to face the Dajal.)
Isa as still alive now (Muslim believe he's in Heaven), he'll come back to the earth one day and make correction on christian about holy bible. Holly bible is belong to the Muslim but after prophet saw coming, bible cannot be follow and its change with holy Koran, Koran is the latest holy book of Islam.
All christian is Islam. but Israel denial that to all people.
Why..? because they believe that the last prophet is came from their race (Israel) which call Ahmad but Allah didn't choose from Israel but bani Quraisy and his names in Muhammad bin Abdullah saw
Note: Kindly please refer to Islam history, Koran and Hadith.
and some one please improve my English if there any wrong

Hope it helped :)
The holy Prophet who was thrown into the fire was Hazrat Abraham (AS). His nation worshiped idols. He broke the idols when the people of the city had gone out on a celebration. He was accused of deforming their gods. He argued that the chief god might have done it. They said that the chief god can't move. How could he do that? Hazrat Abraham (AS) them argued: Why do you worship such powerless idols who are unable to defend themselves? They can't do any harm to anyone. " Finding no logical answer they asked the king Namrood to throw him into fire.
A big fire was lit and he was thrown into it. Allah Almighty commanded the fire: O' ye Fire, be cold, safe on Ibrahim. (Al-Quran).
What way did the prophets fulfill their roles?
If you mean the Jewish Prophets:
They promised the coming of a Messiah, one who would lead the Jews out of the bondage of slavery and the Roman Rule.
While many Jewish people thought the Messiah would be a military leader, they were wrong. The promised Messiah came in the form of Jesus Christ, Son of God.
Says the Christian Belief.
