Can you breastfeed on fluoxetine?

It is possible to breastfeed while taking antidepressants as long as you are carefully monitored by a physician.

How much is an overdose of fluoxetine hydrochloride?

The dosage of fluoxetine hydrochloride required for an overdose depends both on the mass of the person in question and how long that person has been taking the drug. For approximately four weeks, the level of fluoxetine in the bloodstream increases, as its presence inhibits its own metabolization. This decreases the amount of fluoxetine required to reach a level associated with adverse effects.

The lowest known dosage of fluoxetine hydrochloride associated with death was 520 mg. However, the actual cause of death in this case was not confirmed to be overdose. On the other hand, the largest known overdose of only fluoxetine hydrochloride was 8 full grams. This patient subsequently made a full recovery.

Is it safe to take Depakote and Lithium together?

My doctor prescribed 400mg Seroquel, 500mg Depakote XR 2x a day, 450mg Lithium 2x a day, and next week he is adding Lamictal. I spent one month inpatient, and have been released for a week with no problems. I would assume this means Lamictal is fine with Depakote.

It is IMPORTANT to have blood tests done weekly while on Lithium, to ensure you don't get toxic levels. I have been told to NEVER just stop taking Lamictal, as it causes Steven Johnson's disease (requires an immediate trip to the ER burn unit because your skin will "fall off your body".

So just TRUST YOUR DOCTORS ORDERS!! :)

Is Depression considered a disability?

That depends on how it affects you. Borderline Personality Disorder can be mild, moderate or severe like any condition although the depressive side of it can be an intense dysphoria.

A psychiatric assessment is probably the way to go, to officially decide whether it has disabled you or not.

Will Prozac show up as Benzodiazepine on drug test?

Prozac will not make you test positive for Benzos in any way. They are a completely different class of drugs known as SSRI's or anti-depressants which are meant as a mood lifter or stabilizer. Benzos of the other hand such as Valium, Xanax, or Ativan which I take work on different chemicals entirely to calm a person with anxiety issues and the like. Prozac works on the chemical in the brain known as seratonin, both can be tested for in the blood but certainly should not be mistaken for the other.

Since the Slim Quick brand of weight loss medication hasn't been approved by the FDA (food and drug administration) it would be wise to talk to your doctor about interacting Slim Quick with any other medication.

Can you feel Prozac after 1 day?

Prozac, a trade name for fluoxetine is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) antidepressant. Its benefits, among many is that it affects chemicals in the brain which may become unbalanced and cause depression, panic, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive symptoms.

Also, Prozac is used to treat major depressive disorders such as bulimia nervosa- an eating disorder, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), panic disorders, and PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder).

Whilst its usage typically manifests itself after about a fortnight, (two weeks), there are side-affects which can include nervousness, loss of sleep, slight anxiety, and very rarely nausea. Generally, after a brief period of endurance, these side-affects dissipate after a brief period of usage. As for Prozac assisting with matters of diet, (what it was originally created for), or anxieties, it is highly doubtful that one might feel any change in these conditions within 24 hours. Mostly, the initial side-effect is feeling somewhat jittery or anxious. It may be that the doses you are taking are too high initially.

Additionally, it is advisable to check your blood pressure. If you are obese, or facing other challenges which affect blood pressure, it may be best to consider changing to a similar SSRI such as Citalopram.

How do you mix and inject fluoxetine and promethazine?

Phenergan (promethazine), when given via injection should always be injected into a large muscle. Ventrogluteal is the best site (hip-buttocks area). It should NEVER be injected IV push as it is a vesicant and causes severe irritation to the vessel walls including scleroses (forming scar tissue within a vein). If you do this, you'll notice the vein crimping up under your skin.

If it is accidentally injected into an artery, it CAN potentially lead to gangrene. If given IV, which is really never done as there are better IV alternatives, it must be greatly diluted and administered slowly and there are still risks of tissue damage.

Stick to IM injections. In the rear end. And dont try to give them to yourself. Have someone who knows the anatomical landmarks and how to give IMs correctly.

Is it safe to take Prozac with Strattera?

Neither Prozac nor Strattera are uppers or downers. Prozac works on serotonin, and Strattera works on norepinephrine, two of our brain cocktails. Both drugs level out their respective neurotransmitters; nothing is added or removed, just made to work more efficiently. Prozac may inhibit some of the activity by Strattera; as for being safe, however, this is for a doctor to decide and monitor. Each case is different.

Can you mix 70mg Vyvanse 30 mg Adderall 60 mg Strattera and Prozac 20 mg?

Just say no! to this combination of drugs. THere is no research indicating the efficacy, benefits or risks of this kind of drug combination.

Taking this combination is risky and can lead to sudden death in a worst case scenario.

What type of soap should you use to clean belly piercings?

There are several ways to answer this question...

1) there are specific products that seem to be sold/recommended at most piercing locations. For specifics, please see the first link under "sources" (at the bottom)

2) there are some generic recommendations - which are on the "Association of Professional Piercers" website...and which are copied on most piercing store websites. I've copied these into this answer (just below) and put the source (at the bottom).

Use one or both of the following solutions for healing piercings: * Packaged sterile saline solution with noadditives (read the label), or a non-iodized sea salt mixture: Dissolve 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized (iodine-free) sea salt into one cup (8ox) of warm distilled or bottled water. A stronger mixture is not better; a saline solution that is too strong can irritate the piercing. * A mild, fragrance-free liquid soap-preferably anti-microbial or germicidal. * WASH your hands thoroughly prior to cleaning or touching your piercing for any reason. * SALINE soak for five to ten minutes once or more per day. Invert a cup of warm saline solution over the area to form a vacuum. For certain piercings it may be easier to apply using clean gauze or paper towels saturated with saline solution. A brief rinse afterward will remove any residue. * SOAP no more than once or twice a day. While showering, lather up a pearl size drop of the soap to clean the jewelry and the piercing. Leave the cleanser on the piercing no more than thirty seconds, then rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of the soap from the piercing. It is not necessary to rotate the jewelry through the piercing. * DRY by gently patting with clean, disposable paper products. Cloth towels can harbor bacteria and snag on jewelry, causing injury.

Does Prozac work for PMDD?

My daughter took Prozac for PMDD. For nine months, it has been very successful. Now, she has started having crying jags, and we discontinued the Prozac. She is nineteen, and I think the Prozac may be exacerbating other symptoms, or perhaps it is causing depression. We are not sure, so we are exploring other options.

How can male infertility be diagnosed?

If you are unable to become pregnant after one year of unprotected intercourse, or six months of unprotected intercourse if you are a woman over 35, you and your partner should have a full physical and medical evaluation. Several blood tests are available to determine if you, your partner, or both of you have a problem that is causing infertility.

FSHFollicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) helps control a woman's menstrual cycle and the production of eggs. In men, it regulates the production and transportation of sperm.

For women, a FSH test is done on the third day of the menstrual cycle and is used to evaluate egg supply. For men, the test is used to determine sperm count.

EstradiolEstradiol is an important form of estrogen. An estradiol test is used to measure a woman's ovarian function and to evaluate the quality of the eggs. Like FSH, it is done on the third day of a woman's menstrual cycle. Luteinizing Hormone LevelIn women, luteinizing hormone (LH) is linked to ovarian hormone production and egg maturation. In men, it stimulates the hormone testosterone which affects sperm production.

An LH test is used to measure a woman's ovarian reserve (egg supply) and a man's sperm count. It is done during a woman's menstrual cycle to see if she is ovulating

Serum ProgesteroneProgesterone is a female hormone produced by the ovaries during ovulation. It causes the endometrial lining of the uterus to get thicker, making it receptive for a fertilized egg.

A serum progesterone test is used to determine if ovulation is occurring. Since progesterone levels increase towards the end of a woman's cycle, the test is done during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle (just before her period starts).

ProlactinThe hormone prolactin is made by the pituitary gland and causes milk production.

In women, a prolactin test is done to find out why they are not menstruating, or why they are having infertility problems or abnormal nipple discharge. The test is done in men when there is a lack of sexual desire, difficulty getting an erection, or if there might be a problem with the pituitary gland.

AndrogenTestosterone is probably the most well-known androgen and it affects the sexual functioning of both men and women.

In men, an androgen test is used to find the cause of a low sex drive, the inability to get an erection, or infertility. In women, it is used to determine the cause of irregular periods or a low sex drive.
