sorry mate, it is not the RX drugs it is the umbrella of speculated personality disorder that bar one from entrance into military. Stop taking them with DR.s orders of course as it is dangerous to stop cold turkey, wait a year and you will be fine. I know this sucks but If you want to get in this is the only way. You can get back on after boot camp but keep it private.

I don't know if its safe or not but I would also like to know. As I took vicodin yesterday for some dental pain and am not feeling all that great today. I am currently taking 20mg of Prozac a day.

I am taking the same thing(20mg of Prozac) along with 600mg of lithium daily, and also have dental pain with vicodin prescribed. I called my pharmasist and he says that it is fine to take them together but that the vicodin will make you more tired than normal. The not feeling good after taking some vicodin thing is what I call a vic hangover, it happens to me after every time I have taken more than say 4 the day before.

If you quit cold turkey, Paxil has withdrawal symptoms that are flu-like. Prozac doesn't have any withdrawal symptoms. That's why I switched.

I just saw my Dr. Today because I am switching from Lexapro to Prozac because of weight gain on Lexapro. This is coming from my Dr. You MUST NOT MIX LEXAPRO and PROZAC. They are not compatible chemically. You must allow at least 3 or more days for the one drug to "wash out" of your system before you start the new one. You may need more time than that. Confirm this with your Dr.

First, be patient. Many antidepressants take 4-6 six to show signs of improvement while newer generation antidepressants such as Lexapro can show signs of improvement as early as one week. Sometimes antidepressants are working but the effects are subtle. Keep a daily journal of your mood and depressive thoughts (such as thoughts of suicide) to track your progress. If you do not show signs of improvement then talk to your doctor about switching to a different one. The process of finding an effective antidepressant and the effective dose of that antidepressant is sometimes so long and laborious that it is easy to lose track of signs of worsening or improvement. A combination of therapy and antidepressants will be the most effective.

I've been taking 80mg of Prozac and 300mg of Wellbutrin daily for two months. Four days ago I added .5mg of Klonopin twice daily. Thus far, I haven't noticed any side effects at all. The Klonopin seems to have kicked in quickly and filled the gap on handling my anxiety (which is why it was prescribed).

My feeling is that stabilizing on a medication before adding others into the regimen helps you find your balance. Starting on more than one medication at a time can make it confusing in sorting out how your moods / stability are being affected, and what is actually working.

Nothing bad. I do not know of a single drug or medication that is dangerous to take with marijuana. Marijauna is neither a stimulant nor a depressant; it is a mild hallucinogen, and so it does not affect the heart or central nervous system the way most other drugs do.

Prozac and Adderall will most likely have few interactive side-effects. Prozac is an SSRI, and acts to allow the brain more time to pick up and consume serotonin, the chemical believed to be responsible for regulation of emotion and a variety of other functions. There is a different TYPE of anti-depressant used less frequently known as an MAOI which acts in a very different way, and an MAOI is a known contraindication of Adderall patients, but Prozac is not. Adderall, which is a mixture of Levo and Dextro-amphetamine salts, acts primarily by increasing levels of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. Adderall doesincrease extracellular levels of serotonin in the brain, although the brain acts to maintain balance (homeostasis) and modifies chemical levels based on other factors. In closing, Prozac and Adderall (both XR and other racemic mixtures of Levo+Dextroamphetamine) should and historically have not had any notable interactions.

Firstly, a few questions because to be safe you need to think about this abit more.

Why do you want to take the 2 together? Provigil (generic:Modafinil) can be anxiolytic, is this why you're taking it with an antidepressant? or is it for recreational purposes? (if you are I'd get something better)

Yes. They both work on Neurotransmitter (NT) systems, but since they work on different systems there's no reason why you can't take them together. Although, as a Pharmacologist, I dislike recommending cocktails. NT's are complex things, and there interactions aren't to be underestimated.

SSRI's take 2+ weeks to take effect (I assume you're taking them at the moment, and Provigil will be started soon) Provigil is a few days. So if you start feeling side effect or showing counter indications, stop taking the Provigil.

As with everything in pharmacology, doasage is the key. Be careful, act sensibly, and if you're in doubt go to a doctor.

There is potential for a major reaction between Phendimetrazine and Prozac. These medications, when taken together could cause a condition called serotonin syndrome which can be life threatening.

No; absolutely not. Every single one of those medications listed are not only members of different chemical classes, but COMPLETELY structurally unrelated. Their metabolites will never be similar.

That said, Lisinopril is not even metabolized by the body. It is excreted through the urine completely unchanged.

It's still safe to list all current prescriptions prior to screenings and provide Rx numbers to avoid confusion. If you don't have a valid prescription for Benzodiazepines, I would recommend getting one through a pysch or a sympathetic internal medicine doctor. Get a small amount. It's too tempting to take more than prescribed and withdrawl is awful. But at least that way you have a valid prescription for a controlled drug.

As someone who has tried to overdose on a mixture or prozac and ibroprofen and then drank heavily, it is more than 35 pills of Prozac & 6 ibroprufen to even do anything more than make you have bad stomach ache, plus the alcohol all it results in is a collapse and hospitalization. In my case I was prescribed Prozac for suicidal tendencies and my doctors informed me that I could not kill myself on it (although I tried). It can cause substantial damage, and I was lucky as I was young my body rebounded, if you are considering this you should go and see your doctor and get referred to a therapist. There was never a risk of death in my case aside from choking on my vomit.

I would advise that you not do it until you talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Chantix is known to have some serious side effects, and before you take it, tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medications you take-- these medications could interact negatively with the Chantix and cause problems for you.

In my personal experience, Fluoxetine made me lose weight. However, I believe the general consensus is that in the short term it will cause weight loss, while long term use may result in weight gain.

I read some recommendations about when it`s the perfect moment to take it and they say in the morning. If you can swallow the entire pill with a glass of water it`s perfect.

You must know that sometimes, Prozac cause drowsiness and then, it`s better to take before going to sleep.

Please be careful at the side effects!

- Overall, there are little to no effects from snorting citalopram. You may feel a bit more mellow, but that is about it. I would not recommend it.
