Yesterday morning I took 150mg Wellbutrin and 2 teaspoons of Delsym cough syrup and within an hour I was feeling dizzy (sort of out of it). This feeling lasted all day and I still feel a little hazy this morning. My physician was knew I have been taking Wellbutrin for several years when he recommended Delsym for a cough caused by a sinus infection. I wouldn't recommend combing these two medicaions.

Delsym has Dexthromethorphan Polystirex in it and although it was a really low dose you could be someone really sensitive to DXM but you should keep in mind Wellbutrin (Bupropion) interacts with DXM. Wellbutrin raises blood plasma levels and inhibits the liver from taking it out of your body. Thus resulting in the effect of Dextromethorphan being magnified and extended!

I personally used to abuse this combination because of this fact. Just so I could be high for days, if i had not gone to rehab I am certain I would be dead just like my best friend.

Fixing this is easy, take a much lower dose than stated on the bottle. And, please... avoid driving until you are certain you are not over medicated. Or talk to your doctor to find a cough medicine alternative.

I am an adult and I started to take Ritalin 4 days ago. Usually I have dilated pupil, but with Ritalin they are quite constricted. I looked around in my text books and it is supposed to be the opposite to pupil are supposed to be more dilated. I also took effexor last month and my pupils were extra dilated (almost completely black).

Yep I am not a professional, but it is very strange. Nevertheless even if with Ritalin my pupils are constricted my eye are very sensitive to light. My own theory will be that in some person Ritalin will increase the eye sensibility to light and than limit the amount by closing the pupil. Makes sense for me but I will still look around.

They seem to kick in at the same time and last about as long. Later in the day I take a second 20mg IR, usually after lunch so I've got an appetite. Then when the world starts to feel a bit too nasty it's time for that second Ativan. The world didn't used to feel so nasty, but I've been taking Adderall for 6 years with the same dose, roughly, and the "come down" in the evenings without something to smooth it over really blows. Ativan is highly addictive in a sneaky way just like every other benzo though. So *start smaller than you think you need* ... break any dose your doctor prescribes you into 1/4's. Otherwise you'll build up a tolorance QUICK (unlike adderall) and find yourself needing it at all times on an increasing ramp, usually ending with an empty bottle and a frantic call to your doctor. They don't like that. So start verrrrry small. They are safe to be taken together, just be real familiar with both so you know when you can take less. I have my "spares" bottle that grows over time. I'm rather proud of it, it's proof I've been able to skip doses here and there when I simply felt like I could. My final piece of advice: Write the day/night/party/dinner get together etc off before taking the Ativan, if you can. There is no impact on your meds by telling your friends you're just not up for it. The opposite or worse-- diving into the spares bottle for a simple night out? That's a step in the wrong direction. And when taking adderall and ativan together, there aren't many steps, they're very steep, but the view sure is good from up here. :)

The two are opposites. Adderall is a stimulate and Ativan is a depressant, and so they--like all drugs-- should only be taken together under a doctor's supervision.

No, it's not bad. In fact it may make the adderall more effective. It activates the neuroreceptor sites that are stimulated by amphetamine. So while it's not necessarily bad, your dosage may need adjusting. And furthermore your symptoms requiring the adderall may be better managed with balancing of your hormone levels.
