How do you switch a ball python from frozen rats to live?
Instincts should kick in with no problem, but be SURE to supervise to prevent serious injury to your python. I doubt it should be to much of a problem, though. If you usually dangle the rat in front of the python, do this with the live one.
-Side note: frozen/thawed is much safer! If your worried about nutrition you can supplement it.

No ball pythons cannot eat ferrets, they would die. It would depend on the size of your python and the size of the ferret. If the sizes are too out of proportion, the ferret will be able to injure the snake. That or the snake will not be able to handle the ferret and will only injure it.
