What is a rash guard?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

A rash guard top looks like a form fitting t-shirt. The rash guard can be long sleeve, short sleeve or even sleeveless. The rash guard protects surfers from the rash due to the chest and stomach rubbing against the wax on the surfboard. Rash guards have lately hit the mainstream as an ideal sunblock. Most rash guards feature a UV coating which protects from the rays of the sun. A rash guard dries quickly and you do not have the worry of reapplying sunblock every few minutes.

What could be the cause of a hive-like rash on stomach chest and back that doesn't itch?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I went to the doctors for the same thing. Its called pityriasis rosea and the spots are oval shaped pink spots on the trunk that don't go past the neckline and generally are patterened in a Christmas tree fanning fashion. The spots don't hurt and usually are preceded by a herald patch (maybe one or two of these spots) before the full virus erupts. The cause is unknown and is not a fungus or bacteria, it is some sort of virus whose origins are unknown and its not contagious. The spots wil clear as quickly as they appeared within 12 weeks. There is only medication if the spots are causing you discomfort. Otherwise just be patient and wait and one morning youll wake up and they will be gone, mine went that way.

Eczema get worse with moisture and itches and can become scaley; whereas, solar urticaria is common early in spring/summer with red blotchy skin that does not itch and is caused by sun exposure. Eczema can be prevented by decreasing moisture and solar urticaria can be reduced by limiting sun-exposure.

What can causes blotches on your face?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Lots of things can cause blotches on your face, it can be heat rash, allergies, excema, dermatitis, or just dry skin. If it is all the time, I would recommend seeing a dr or a dermatologist. If it's just sometimes, see if you can remember something similar happening around each time it happens, and then see if you can eliminate it. Or if it's dry skin, just use moisturiser.

Can you get posion ivy from another person?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No, poison ivy cannot be spread from person to person. The rash that appears after being exposed to poison ivy is your body trying to fight off the oils that are deep inside your skin. No oils will be on the rashes nor when oozing begins will it be able to spread from person to person.

The only possible way is if the person got poison ivy on a pare of clothing, and didn't wash them. Then another person took that pare of clothing and wore it.

Poison ivy oils can get on every thing from tools to clothing even animals and can stay on them for a year or more. So make sure you wash anything that you think has come in contact with poison ivy.
