What do the judges look for in the saddle bronc riding event?
The bronc rider must be in time with the bronc. This means their feet should be at the horse's shoulders with the toes pointed out when the horse's front feet hit the ground. The rider's feet should be back at the cantle of the saddle when the horse's back feet are on the ground. A smooth spurring action from cantle to shoulder is desired. The rider should sit up straight with the free hand in the air. The rein should be kept taut, but not tight. The rider is worth 50 points.
