Go back to the dentist and ask him to check for infection in the gums. I had the same problem, had to get the root canal redone and finally led to the extraction of the tooth, cause the stupid dentist couldn't figure out that he had infected my gums..

Go to the dentist obviously. To know specifically what it is, more information is needed but here are some possibilities:

could be a cavity occurring somewhere along the back tooth which will require a dentist to fix through cleaning, drilling and filling.

Or maybe if you are around your pre or early 20s, then it may be a sign of some impact among teeth caused by the development of the wisdom tooth which in turn causes some pain. Again, a dentist needed to confirm that.

This is known as an anti-biotic prophylaxis, for the purpose of avoiding the introduction of bad bacteria into your bloodstream while penetrating deep tissues during any dental procedure which may break the skin. You may want to use a search engine to look for the word "DentalCavitation" in parentheses.I'm not sure what an unfinished root canal is, except that when I have had root canals they were usually started on one visit and completed on another. Was it started and not finished? When a tooth is pulled, a good oral surgeon should also carefully remove the periodontal ligament and scrape, or curette, the extraction site to remove any and all dead/necrotic bone. As for the root canaled tooth, it may be a goner if the site has become infected. The tooth may need to be extracted and the same clean out procedure done as mentioned above. When you talk to an oral surgeon, be sure he or she is familiar with removal of the periodontal ligament and removing all dead bone before suturing the site.

No 2 year olds that need a root canal have been neglected and abused. You should contact child protective services.

A root canal (drilling into the root of a tooth to kill the nerves) can be fairly painful even WITH anesthetics; without them (and Novocaine is a commonly-used drug in dental surgery) it would be excruciating.

Yes. That just means the tooth is still vital (or alive). If the tooth is opened and the canals aren't bleeding this means the tooth is neucrotic or dead. The tooth has no more nutrients going to it, meaning the doctor will clean through and though, using files all the way out of the canal to clear any bacteria. If the tooth is bleeding, there isn't a need to go out of the canal, to the end or a mm short is okay. Bleeding will stop once the nerves are removed and bleeding can also be caused if the doctor is out of the canal. He can use anesthetic to stop the bleeding or drying paper points.

The roots of a tooth provide blood to the tooth and gum to keep the tooth alive. After a root canal the pulp and root are removed which essentially kills the tooth. It's a better alternative to kill a tooth with advanced decay than remove it, especially for dogs that consume hard foods.

I was given Thymex and Andrographis Complex by my Chiroprator for an abcessed tooth that I was told needed a root canal. It seems to be some better but now my ear is beginning to hurt. Is this really good to take?

i would of thought that it would be the same as getting a scab after peircing a hole in your skin, i.e the blackish / brown lining you get when a scab starts

I am not a dentist, but I have had to get a root canal. If they say you need one get it done before it gets bad. I waited too long (I hate the dentist). The pain that the tooth started to cause was unbearable. My whole head was killing me after a while. I waited till it got infected and when I finnally got in I had to have it treated with antibiotics for something like two weeks before I could get the whole procedure done. Anyway, if I had to do it over I woould NOT have waited. Good luck.
