Depending on the type of unit (Starmate, Sporster etc) Hard reset means pressing MENU, then going to the SIRIUS ID and display it. Then pressing DISPLAY and then MEMO and then BAND. It might take 2-3 tries, but that resets the lock code and the entire unit.

An XM satellite radio antenna cannot be used as a cell phone antenna as they use a different type of connection. Satellite signals operate on a different frequency from cell phones and use different technologies in their antennas as well.

Circular polarization characteristics of a helical antenna help offset the effects of spin modulation from satellites in motion, that is, the tendency for satellites to spin causing the position of their antennae to change rapidly in accordance with the spin, causing a fluctuation in the signal as received by a fixed signal on earth.
