Why is it important to accurately record the procedures and results of an experiment?

So that you are NEVER confused at anytime within the conduction of the experiment.

What happens to the chromosomes near the end of the process of mitosis?

Mitosis is the process of cell division in which the chromosomes condense and the spindle is assembled. In each phase the chromosomes do different things: prophase: during this first phase of mitosis, the parent chromosomes become compacted and the spindle begins to form creating an X-shape when looked at through a microscope; prometaphase: the nuclear membrane becomes many small vesicles during this phase. The spindle microtubules reach out until they connect the chromosomes to their kinetochore and then a sort of "tug-of-war" happens while the chromosomes bounce between the two poles; metaphase: the chromosomes align along the equator of the cell as they become connected to the spindle poles; anaphase: the chromosomes work their way into becoming individual/independent chromosomes as they begin to find their place near the poles; and telophase: the chromosomes find their poles, the spindle disbands, and each chromosome gets its new nuclear membrane.

What happens when you suck the air out of a marshmallow?

the force of the air pulls on the marsh mellow causing it to expand

Is wind a kind of matter?

Yes, because of its direction maybe it comes from America which is a cold place right NOW example going to Philippines which has a hot temperature therefore if the temperature of the wind is cold/hot coming from that particular place the place it should go to could have the opposite temperature of the place that the wind is coming from.

The variable not controlled by the experimenter?

The dependent variable which is measured. or Manipulated variable which is changed by the experimenter.

A train accelerates from 30 km per hr to 45 km per hr in 15 seconds Find its acceleration and distance?

By kmh you probably mean km/h. If so, (40-35)km/h=(45-40)km/h=(50-45)km/h=5km/h is the change in velocity each second and (5km/h)= (5km/h)(1h/3600s)=0.0013888889km/s=(0.00138km/s)(1000m/km)=about 1.38m/s and the acceleration is the change in velocity divided by the change in time. The acceleration is then a=(1.38m/s)/1s=about 1.38m/s2.

What kind of things are translucent?

Things you can some what see through. i.e stained glass, colored liquid, wax paper, ect.

What is the difference between stratosphere and troposphere?

troposphere:- The troposphere contains particles of dust which serve as nuclear centers for the formation of clouds.

There is decrease of temperature with a mean rate of about 6.40C per km.

it is from 0 to 15 kilometers. it has more air and has many clouds.

Stratosphere

No visible weather phenomena take place in this layer

In this layer the temperature does not change with altitude.er

stratosphere

it is from 15 km to 50 km. there is very little air and jet aeroplanes fly in this layer.

What is the pH of a solution containing 0.535 g NHCl in 50 ml 0.1 M NH?

0.535 g NH4Cl in 50 ml :

concentration is [ 0.535 g / 53.5 g/mol] = 0.100 mol in 50 ml = 0.100 mol / 0.050 L =

2.0 mol/L NH4Cl = 2.0 M NH4Cl

pH = pKz(NH4+) - log [NH4+]/[NH3] 1) = 9.24 - log[2.0]/[0.1] = 9.24 - 1.30 = 7.94 = 7.9

Note: this is actually out of the range of a buffer and of the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation 1) so the the outcome is only indicative.

In a properly designed experiment how many mainpulated responding and controlled variables should you have why?

In a properly designed experiment, it is important to have at least 2 controlled variables. With two variables you are able to remove one at a time and see the effect in your setup.

In science does the hypothesis have to be testable?

A hypothesis is often used as a starting point to define the scope and objectivity of performing an experiment. A hypothesis is a statement that implies there is insufficient evidence to support an idea or an explanation of an observation or principle. It is a statement of unproven fact, sometimes just a guess that is tentatively accepted as a basis or foundation for further investigation. If a hypothesis is proven to be correct beyond reasonable doubt, it becomes a theory and is generally accepted by the scientific community. I hope this answered your question!

Can the mineral azurite scratch glass?

apatite can not scratch glass. it is considered number 5 1/2 on the Mohs Scale Of Hardness. Apatite is number 5 on the scale and can only scratch itself and all of the minerals lower on the scale.

What are note cards in a science fair project?

Note cards in a science fair project are used to organize and present information in a concise and structured manner. They typically contain key points, data, and references that support the project's research and findings. Note cards help the presenter stay organized during the presentation and serve as a guide to ensure all important information is covered.

How do social factors contribute to diversity?

Because of the individuality that you bring into the diverse from you social factors such as who you are, your style and cloths, background/food and ethnicity group.

How is rain and hail similar and how are they different?

they are similar because they are all precipitation and a form of water. rain is liquid. sleet is liquid that freezes before it hit the ground but then melts when it does hit the ground (like a slushy) and hail is completely frozen into a chunk of ice

Why is it important to only have one variable in an experiment?

If you change more than one variable at a time, you will not be able to tell which variable is responsible for what change. Scientists need to know exactly which variable caused the observed experimental results.

What is the specific gravity of garnet?

Specific gravity of corundum is between 3.95-4.01.

What causes most waves to occur?

The most common cause of surface ocean waves is air movement (the wind). Waves within the ocean can also be caused by tides, interactions between waves, submatine earthquakes or volcanic activity, and atmospheric disturbances (storms). Wave size depends on wind speed, wind duration, and the distance of water over which the wind blows. The longer the distance the wind travels over water, or the harder it blows, the higher the waves.

As the wind blows over the water, it tries to drag the surface of the water with it. The surface water cannot move as fast as air, so the water rises. After it rises, the water is pulled back down by gravity. The falling water's momentum is carried below the surface, and water pressure from below pushes this swell back up again. This tug of war between gravity and water pressure creates wave motion.

What are scientific qualities?

size, texture, smell, shape ,mass ,etc

or anything that can be measured or gauged such as magnetic force ,water pressure , or radiation etc.

the effects of and what it effects and reaction to.

can also be considered as scientific qualities as well .

in short any aspect of a subject (object , gas ,substance ,unseen force, etc) that can be measured or quantified is concidered the scientific qualities of said subject .

Another Perspective:

The following, partial list of general qualities of science, derive directly from the Scientific Method.

Purposeful: (Clearly defined purpose)

Systematic: (Good plan and it is followed)

Objective: (Freedom to follow where the evidence leads)

Logical: (rules of logic: deduction and induction are applied)

Empirical: (evidence is from observation, experience, or experiment)

Replicable: (Others must be able to repeat the research)

Honest: (Frank and truthful reporting of data and findings)

Why friction is important?

Well, friction is force that acts against the direction in which an object is moving. It can slow it down, or stop it. It provides grip. It occurs when two or more moving objects are in contact with one another. Friction is important because it basically allows us to do everyday things: driving a car, picking up objects etc. Without it everything would just slip and slide, with nothing to grip onto. Eg. Fiction actually causes the wheels on a bike to move when in contact with the ground. Friction "pushes" the wheels in a circular motion. Basically, the rougher the objects, the more frictional force. The smoother the objects, the less frictional force, making it easier for them to move across each other. There are several ways in which friction can be reduced: lubricating items, such as oils, and also lessening the weight of an object, so that it doesn't push down as much on the other surface.
