How many kilo grams arein one newton?

One newton is equal to the force imparting acceleration of 1 m/sec/sec to a mass of 1,000 grams.

Factor in an experiment that changes as a result of other factors changing?

A factor in an experiment that can change is called a variable. Variables are used in experiments to test a hypothesis, and someone will manipulate the variable, while keeping something else the same, a control, in order to see how the variables react in comparison with a control.

Metal in the middle of the reactive series-or in a jumble?

I'm guessing that you've got the same science homework as me. It's Iron (or in jumble). Also, I checked on the reactivity series to find out which ones were in the middle, which are Zinc and Iron.

How are ultraviolet waves different from violet waves?

Ultraviolet (UV) light has a higher frequency (and a shorter wavelength and shorter period) than violet light. It is more energetic, too. We can't see UV light as our eyes only see up through violet. The shorter wavelengths of the UV light are something we cannot detect with our eyes. We can see (in order of increasing frequency) red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet light. The UV light is outside the range of our vision.

What is an experiment that involves changing one factor and observing its effect on another while keeping all other factors constant?

Controlled experiment.

The thing you change is called the independent variable and the constants are the dependent variables. By only changing the independent variable, any results can be attributed to this.

What are some good topics for a social studies projects for a fair?

form rebekah,

OK well i am in the 8th grade now and what i did for my 7th grade project is i did Princess Diana and how she died. But this year i am doing The Great Wall of China and what is meant to people in china. But yes the modern women's movement is a great subject. It explains what women went through in the 1970's from the sixties. About the sexual harassment, domestic violence e.x its a great subject. My sister actually did that for her 8th grade project and she made second place goo sister. i would choose either the great wall or the modern women's movement.

Describe the density and charge of the nucleus?

Can be found via electron scattering. Hofstander from Stanford got the Nobel prize for it.

rho(r) = rho0 / (1 +Exp[(r - a)]/b)

The parameter b is a measure of the surface thickness.

What is the difference between science experiment and a science project?

A science experiment is when you don't know the outcome ahead of time, and perform tests to figure out the outcome. A science project is when you know what the results are SUPPOSED to be and then try to duplicate them from theory to reality.

Does salt disslove in water?

Yes, salt (sodium chloride) dissolves in water. When salt is added to water, the water molecules surround the salt ions, breaking the ionic bonds and pulling the salt apart. This results in a clear, homogeneous solution with the salt evenly distributed throughout the water.

Why do you set a standard in a controlled experiment?

so you can try to see exactly which factors are affecting the dependent variable (the thing you're measuring) "it gives you something to compare your results to" is the basic Y9-GCSE answer =]

Electrical current will pass easily through?

Copper, metal, aluminum.

Answer

I think the answer you are probably looking for is a conductor. Practical conductors are usually metal, although non-metals, such as carbon, are also commonly used. Liquid conductors are called 'electrolytes'. The best metallic conductor is silver, followed very closely by copper. In practise, copper is likely the most common metal conductor but, as copper is relatively expensive, aluminium is widely used for transmission and distribution lines.

Examples of reversible and irreversible changes?

Some are...

melting ice

candle burning

stretching rubber band

melting of wax

dry and wet clothes

melting of chocolates

melting of ice lollies !!!

How can you make results from an experiment more accurate?

To make an experiment more accurate, repeat the experiment several times. If you do it 5 times there could be one or two anomalous, however do it 10, 15, 20 or 100 times you would find that about 95% of your results say one thing and that 5% say another, then your experiment will be dead accurate.

Where is magma not likely to form?

Volcanoes only occur on the boundaries between tectonic plates, and this is the same for earthquakes. this is why there are many volcanoes and earthquakes in Indonesia and the south east Asia region, but very few any where in Europe or Antarctica. So volcanoes don't occur within a tectonic plate.

Does Tuberculosis have a nucleus?

Tuberculosis is caused by a bacteria which has no nucleus. It has DNA, but it is not found inside a membrane such as we have in our cells.

What are two chemical properties of iron?

Physical Properties of Iron

1. Boils at 2750°C

2. Iron's density is 7.874g/cc

3. It is silver- white when pure

4. Its atomic mass is 55.847

5. It reflect 65% of the light that hits it

Chemical Properties of Iron

1. Oxidizes in damp air

2. It dissolves quickly in dilute acids

4. It corrodes fast in high temperatures

5.When iron is exposed to air it reacts with oxygen

to form hydrated ferric oxide on its surface (rust).

What is the metal used for xrays?

X-Rays can penetrate all metals, but not very far. The penetration depth is strongly dependent on how dense the metal is. Lead, for example, is a better X-ray stopper than aluminum. There are tables that allow an investigator to find the half-value layer for different substances. These references will give the thickness of a given material needed to reduce an incident beam by 50%.

Why is a control needed in a valid experiment?

To comare and contrast the differences and similarites.Im not really sure if this is right becuz i had the same question so ill see th votes in a few.Well wish me and u good luck cuz for me its due on monday

Why would repeating an experiment be a good idea?

By repeating the experiment and getting the same results it validates those results.

If you plant a seed and dont water it what will happen?

It starts to wither up and leaves start to drop like it's begging for water.

What is brine electrolysis?

Brine elctrolysis is where a solution of sodium chloride (common table salt) dissolved in water is broken down into chlorine gas, hydrogen gas, hydroxide ions and sodium ions by passing and elctrical curren through the solution. The chlorine gas will liberate at the cathode and hydogen at the anode, and the two ions produced will combine to form a solution of sodium hydroxide, a very strong alkali which has many applications. (The NaOH solution will be, when the reaction is complete, in place of the NaCl solution). Hope this is useful!!
