What do you do when you are working at sea world as an animal trainer?
When you are working at sea world, you have to feed, train, take care of, and groom the aquatic animals. I would love to work there. Sometimes they get to help with the birth of a whale, too!
Many people feel it is cruel for the conditions the animals are kept in; and a few other reasons. Some points are:
- The tanks are tiny (compared to how far the animals swim in the wild).
- The animals get little enrichment (mental stimulation).
- When dolphins or whales try to use echolocation (sonar) the sound bounces back and forth endlessly.
- The animals have a greatly decreased lifespan.
- Show animals must preform for food.
- The show tricks are dumb and insulting.
- Many animals were captured from their families in the wild.
- Sea world has gotten animals from Taiji, Japan (the cove); where a few are sold to marine parks and the rest are killed
- Animals become stressed and upset.
Also, the pools are not deep. Sea world says orcas average 15-20 ft long, and at
sea world San Diego, only the 2 pools with underwater viewing are deeper than that (Main pool:36 ft deep; Close up:27 ft deep.), while the other pool are not (side pools are 15 ft deep).
How much does friday's restaurant waiters get paid?
Typical, and for most restaurants by the way, is around minimum wage. Added to this are table tips which can supplement the hourly rate.
Some restaurants pool all table tips into one pot and equally disburse the money at the end of the the day.

Added update: as of 2/27/10, Sea World has announced that they will keep the whale and may even use him in future shows. They have changed their procedures and will now keep the trainers out of the water when Orcas are present.
Is February a good time to go to Sea World in San Diego?
It is a good time to go to Sea World but don't get near any of the water tanks because the wind can be a bit nippy. Take a light jacket with you to tie around your waist (with the arms of the jacket). If you sit too close to the water tanks the dolphins or whales can get you wet. We always sit in the back. Take plenty of money with you or an ATM card to pay for purchases because they charge the tourists a lot.
Get your tickets ahead of time on a discount plan like Triple A or a hotel package or some online deal. It costs more when you pay at the gate. Don't forget where you parked too. If you are handicapped be certain to bring your walker, wheel chair or scooter because the place is huge. You can rent wheel chairs too. If you are taking young kids be prepared for them to get cranky if you walk all over the place. Strollers are the best idea. Wear hats too because overcast days are in June not February.
The place is amazing when you see the amount of marine animals and shows that are there. There is a restaurant there that has really good food but ofcourse it is expensive. There are fast food places too.

Great ideas for a fancy dress competition with the topic of Sea World would be to dress like a mermaid. Another idea would be to dress like a dolphin or clown fish.

The Seaworld Nara Resort does offer early check in indeed. But only with advanced warning.
Is it the same sea world every were?
No. The three US Sea Worlds are owned by the same company, but each park is different. The US parks are not related to the Australian Sea World Gold Coast.
Is sea world located in Atlanta Georgia?
No.
There are no SeaWorlds located in Georgia.The closest one to Georgia is the one in Orlando,Florida
However, Atlanta is home to the Georgia Aquarium, which is home to whale sharks, hammerheads, otters, seals, and belugas. They also have a new dolphin show for extra admission.
When does sea world hire for jobs?
Seaworld hires mainly during the summer (Most busiest season) and rarely hires anyone during the off seasons.
