OF COURSE whales are the biggest living animal in the ocean

Does the Lemon shark attack humans?

no they aren't. i have even swam with lemon, reef and nurse sharks in the bahamas. I was snorkeling and loads of sharks came and they don't do anything. Everybody was scared but i think that the sharks were even more scared!!! The really dangerous sharks are tiger and the great white sharks.

I will leave your original response above which opens with a falsehood.

While I am sure that it is not your intent, the facts are, that Lemons can be

dangerous to humans and there are recorded "unprovoked attacks" every year.

I have had a good deal of experience with sharks as a Divemaster, APNEA diver

and a film professional.

I was attacked in the Turks and Caicos by an 8-9ft Lemon and was only saved

by the intervention of a very special Dolphin named JoJo.

Nurse sharks will even attack if provoked. I have witnessed folks with less than sound judgement, being bitten by nurse sharks that were being tampered with.

Reef sharks (white tip, black tip) both can be very dangerous to humans, especially in frenzy

(they are now commonly chummed into frenzy as part of a really ill conceived events known as "shark dives")as they are incredibly fast and increase in numbers rapidly when blood is sensed in the water.

Arguably, the most dangerous shark is really the Bull Shark. While one can be killed by a sizable Great White "tasting" them by the sheer damage done by the massive teeth and jaws,

the Bull Shark has the highest concentration of testosterone known in nature.

I have been charged and attacked by them a few times and was able to fend them off.

They are super territorial and extremely aggressive.

I would call you lucky or fortunate at best.

Most shark attacks occur in 1-3 ft of water within 15 ft of the beach.

What are facts about the bull shark?

Dog sharks that are born, instead of hatched ,grow inside the mother in much the same way as human babbies do.However, it can take dog sharks longer than nine months to finnish developing.the spiny dogfish

What do great whites like to eat the most?

Adult Great Whites are apex predators. Apart from the Orca (Killer Whale), there are no known predators that may attack or kill a Great White. In regions where both the Orca and the Great whites inhabit and compete for food, Orcas may attack and kill these sharks. Since Orca's are much larger than them, they can attack and even kill great whites.

What shark will eat you?

Many sharks have the strength and size to eat humans but very few do.

The great white shark, tiger shark and bull shark are all species which have been known to attack and kill humans.

Positive identification of attacking sharks is very difficult since victims rarely make adequate observations of the attacker during the "heat" of the interaction. Tooth remains are seldom found in wounds and diagnostic characters for many requiem sharks (family Carcharhinidae) are difficult to discern even by trained professionals.

How many babies can barracudas have?

It depends on the type and size of barracuda. The younger ones have about 5,000 eggs and older and more mature barracuda have about 300,000 eggs.

Why do sharks eat plankton?

No.

Well, maybe by accident.

An animal as big as a great white would have to be a filter feeder to be able to eat plankton efficiently. And the great white isn't. It prefers bigger prey.

What attacks tigers?

Not much.tigers are feared by every animal in their environment.an elephant will charge if her calf is threatened,as will the Indian rhino, adult black bears, and a crocodile will attack them in water when both are competing for food.

What is the difference between bat ray and manta ray?

Manta Rays grow to a much larger size than Stingrays, but I'd say the biggest difference is that Stingrays have a "stinger", a hard, thin rod-like appendage that lies in a groove in it's tail until it's frightened or threatened at which time it will will 'lift' it up, out and over it's back, and drive it into the flesh of it's perceived (or real) attacker and 'sting' it - it's very painful!

Manta Rays have a similar tail to Stingrays, but over evolutionary-time, they've "lost" the 'stinger'.

Stingrays are thought to be evolutionarily older than Mantas mainly because Mantas have evolved from being bottom filter-feeders into Open-Ocean filter-feeders while stingrays have remained bottom feeders. This is why, if you should go into the water where they are found (like off the coast of Australia), you will likely be warned to do the "Stingray Shuffle"....this frightens the rays away and helps you to avoid stepping on one - if you do, you most likely will be stung.

It was once thought that there was only one "type" of Manta Ray. But, it has been discovered that there are actually two:

- One is call the Giant Manta Ray and these Rays migrate around in the Ocean for long distances

- The other, first discovered, smaller and thought to be "older' Mantas stay closer to the shore

A believed to be newly discovered 'type' of Giant Ray is even larger than the other and have what some believe to be a vestigial stinger which can be seen on them as a small 'bump' at the base of the tail (vestigial = an evolutionarily 'withered', and basically useless to the 'modern' animal, body part - in humans, the appendix is thought to be vestigial)

The discovery of the Giant Rays with this (thought by some) vestigial, "bump" now have people wondering - Which 'came first' - The smaller, more common Manta, or the Giant?

Although Stingrays are more aggressive, by virtue of their "stinger", both are basically 'peaceful' creatures.

There are other differences between the Manta and Stingray, but I believe what I've mentioned suffices as the "major" differences.

How long has the goblin shark been extinct?

sharks have been here for a huge amount of time. They have been here even before the dinosaurs. Since all life began in the ocean, sharks have been the top predator for millions of years. They are one of the smartest animals in the world, having long and short term memory, and they can learn. They are he least changed animals on earth, not by evolution or adaptation because they are natures perfect predator. dispite what most people think, sharks do not eat people.

Are sharks and whales marine animals?

The marine biome is a more scientific way of saying "an ocean habitat".

I haven't seen any sharks prancing through the deciduous forests or galloping over the open tundra lately. I must conclude that, yes, sharks live in the marine biome.

What place do shark attacks happen the most?

Most shark attacks occur near reefs, between sandbars, and near steep drop-offs, because those places also attract other marine life that the sharks hunt.

Sharks are also attracted to places where humans fish, or where waste was disposed in the water, leading to more attacks in those areas.

Most of the shark attacks on humans occur near the water surface, on swimmers, snorkelers, and surfers - there were 318 attacks between 2000 and 2009 on surface recreationists (people surfing, rafting, floating, etc), 185 attacks in the same period on swimmers, and only 53 on divers.

The countries with the most shark attacks are the USA, Australia, and South Africa.

Why do sharks attack surfers when they are laying down on a surf board?

Sharks have a very keen sense of sight. With this ability, they are able to tell if a person has just eaten or when the person last ate. Sharks are known to attack people with a full stomach to feed of that nutrients as well. It is advisible to not enter the water immediately after eating and to wait a period of 30 minutes to and hour before resuming oceanic activities.
