What is a JC Higgins Model 66 12 Ga semi automatic shotgun worth?
This gun would have been manufactured by High Standard, but I cannot cross reference it to a particular model. With the HS name it would retail for something between $200 and $400. With the Sears trade name it is likely to be one of the lower priced HS models and would retail for about $150-$200 actually Sears and Roebuck owned all of High Standards rifle and shotgun productio back in the late 40s to the early 60s as Sears also owned a sizable part of High standard in Fact the President of High Standard was a Sears Vice president 583 code actually means Sears House brand Not High Standard product owned and made exclusivly by Sears. High standard was not allowed by their contract and agreement to sell rifles or shotguns on their own until 1962 as Sears owned these models. Model 66 shotgun was definitly designed and made by High standard as the model 20 pump However the bolt action was designed by H&R and more than half of them 583 1 to 583 13 were made by H&R For High Standard . Basicly what I am trying to say is that the model 66 is Exclusive Sears product made by and for them As High Standard was infact a division of Sears during the fifties .the guns marked J C Higgins 583 were not High Standards secound quality it was the only shotguns and rifles they made by High Standard and at the time they were Sears top quality and were actually better than most of their compition
How much is a 20 gauge modified shot gun worth?
Would need a little more information, like manufacturer and model for starters. But for any useable shotgun, you can go to Walmart and locate the least expensive new gun with the same action type and figure your used gun is worth from 1/2 to 2/3 of its price.
What is the age and value of a Western Field model 25XNH-403 16 gauge shot gun?
I can only find two Montgomery Wards shotguns listed with with "XNH" in the model id. One is a Nobel 60 or 66 pump action. If this is it, it was made between 1953 and 71 and valued at $75-$150. That's a lot more than I would pay since one of these turned my arm black and blue from the shoulder to the elbow. The other was a Marlin 55 bolt action. It was manufactured from 1950 to 1965 and lists for $90 in 100% new condition. Even if your gun is not one of these two, it's value will be low with the Western Field name.
Where could one find a Remington Model 110 12 gauge pump shotgun?

What is the age and value of a J Stevens Arms Company 5100 Springfield side by side shotgun?
The gun was manufactured sometimes around 1947, perhaps a bit earlier. I purchased one new from a store in Beaumont, Texas in July, 1947. Mine came with a Teonite (Plastic) stock and forearm. The stock was crafted to look like a piece of walnut, grade XXXX with lots of swirls and other figure. I paid $47.00 for mine, and I have put about 6 to 8 boxes of shells through it to date. It still looks brand new. Value? Value is what someone is willing to pay for it.

What is the value of a Winchester 1901 10 gauge six shot lever action shotgun?
To get your answer, you will need to determine the condition. Start by looking up the NRA Condition Grading Definitions For Antique Firearms. You can find these in a number of places. Try searching for "NRA Condition Grading Definitions For Antique Firearms" using the Google search form to the right. Be realistic in your appraisal. To get a reliable estimate of the value of your gun, see a professional appraiser. If you just want a basic estimate, buy yourself the current Blue Book of Gun Values. This is considered the most accurate source book for gun values. Ultimately, though, value is subjective. Value is based on the worth to an individual collector. What's more, the sentimental value of the gun to you could be much higher than what a collector will pay for it.
How do you find information on J Stevens double barrel shotguns?
Most Stevens shotguns have a model number on the right side of the receiver (5000, 5100, 3xx, 2xx). If the company name is marked "J. Stevens Arms Co", it was made after 1920 when Stevens became a division of Savage. Sometime in the 1940's the "J" was dropped.
Riverside shotguns were made by Stevens. I'm not sure when they started and stopped using this name, but a Riverside hammergun should be the Model 215 which was produced from 1913-1932.
The Model 215 hammergun was sold as the Springfield-Stevens from 1930-1932.
On the left side of the receiver is:

What is the value of a Charles Daly 10 gauge side by side twin trigger shotgun?
The 23rd edition of the Bluebook of Gun Values indicates the Field II Hunter model 10 gauge side by side is worth $635.00 at the 100% condition and 340 at the at the 90% condition. Ross Rossander If I may add to the answer it would be that value depends on who built the gun and when. Some of the more modern guns can be very cheap indeed but some of the older German guns can be worth thousands. We need much more info to give any real answer of value.

Are Iver Johnson shotguns well regarded?
IJ shotguns were always well-made and dependable, but inexpensive guns. They did not go the extra mile to make a truly fine firearm with perfect fit and finish that would make them stand out in a crowd.
I received an, old at the time, Iver Johnson 12 Ga "Matted Rib" with 32 inch, full choke barrel, for my 12th birthdayin 1947. That gun has never missed a beat, whether hitting Jack rabbits in the Mojave Desert or cotton tails and pheasants in the fields of Iowa. I've used about every load, including modern high- base in it. I believe it to be as good as any high-dollar gun. My four sons have all used it in their shooting and hunting education. The only complaint ever regestered against it was when it "kicked like a mule" and knocked down a younger and smaller cousin in 1950.That was one of the many times I slipped in a load of oo buck. We after doves at the time and had been using 71/2 or 8. It' still in good shape and looks very good. I reblued it and refinished the stock about i952.The serial number is 31500E. I looked it up in a Stoeger gun catalog a long time ago and saw that it cost a whopping $7.50 when new. I believe it was made about 1895. but I'm not sure of that!I'll probably pass it on to one of my Grandsons someday, since I got it from my Grandfather. Richard Stover
Additional info---When the British Purchasing Commission was after anything in the US that went bang, in 1940-41, it bught a quantity of 38 cal IJ revolvers. However, they were not wellr e garded and considered unsound and at times unsafe. Hence they were not issued to British (or British European allies)but to the various Police forces in Britain. Police at that time were not routinely armed but a PC could, whilst on night duty, simply claim a pistol when goiing on patrol, if they felt likely to be at threat - in London at least.
Not wanting to be unduely rude about IJ (I have my own Supeprshot Sealed Eight)KuKSmith
The model 107 was manufactured from 1912 until 1945, but Stevens was not associated with Savage until 1920, and even though a part of the Savage Arms Company, the guns were marked as "J. Stevens Arms Co" until the mid 1940's, so most likely yours was one of the last model 107's made in 1945. Stevens products were always well-made and serviceable, but nothing that collectors get excited about, so it will be priced as a used single shot. Since new ones sell for $89.95, secondhand it would be worth $45-60 depending on condition.
What is the value of a Remington single shot shotgun?
Would need to know which one, but since there are only 5 listed, I'll give you the Blue Book's suggested value for each in 80% condition. AnswerTry the model 1893. It is listed in the 2006 Standard Catalog of firearms. Then check out Remington Model 1893 on Google. How do you find information on a J Stevens Arms Company Model 620 16-gauge shotgun?
Make sure it is a 620 and not a 520. The 520 has a stepped receiver top [similar to a Browning A-5] where the 620 has the smooth receiver top [similar to a Remington 1100]. They are both take down models. To take apart the 520, unload the firearm, cycle the bolt to the rear of the receiver, turn the knurled portion of the magazine tube outward until the nut at the base of the magazine tube clears the receiver comfortably. Advance the action bar/forearm about 3/4 of the way forward..turn the firearm so the receiver is down and wiggle the barrel/receiver union a bit so the barrel/forearm indexes up toward you about 1/8". Then the forearm will slide out and disengage from the bolt and the whole forearm/barrel unit will slide up toward you and away from the top of the receiver. Most of these are 2-9/16" chambers in the 16 Ga. Keep this well oiled and clean as it is an interrupted thread union and subject to fouling. Also after firing, you will have to advance the forearm forward about 1/8" to disengage the bolt and then you can pump another round into the chamber. 2/-1/2" ammo is quite common and fair priced. Gun Parts Corp has parts for these on occasion. That's about all I can offer on this fine 100 yr. old Browning design.
