How reliable is a Yamaha 700 triple snowmobile engine?
I own a Yamaha venture 700 triple, and before buying it I had talked with a rep from ad boivin in quebec and he had told me that if nothing goes wrong with it , it is almost indestructable.
Secondly, I have seen quite a few of them for sale with over 30,000 kilometers on them. That speaks for itself.

What is gas oil mixture for Rupp snowmobile?
Wow that is an old sled, I would start at 32/1 on that model making sure it smokes at an idle.Sorry about that these are the proper ratios I went and looked them all in my books. If there is a Rupp engine 20:1, if it has a Kohler engine the ratio is 40:1, or if it has an Xenoah engine the ratio is 30:1. This should be what you need.
Years ago when the snowmobiles were new, 2 stroke oil was not a "special" type oil. The way 2 stroke gas/oil was mixed was to dump a qt of 30wt automotive engine oil into 5 gallons of gas. In that time period that was the recommended 20:1 ratio
With modern oils made specifically for 2 strokes.....many Rupp riders are using a 40:1 ratio in all their sleds. I still run mine at 32:1 to insure a lot of lube beings my sleds are not in any competition.
Even though my shelves are full of vintage Rupp Parts for snowmobiles and minibikes here at Ruppparts.com...I don't want to damage any engines with a lack of oil
