Under SSD, there's a child benefit check, but you still need to get a modification.

Can i stop my child from receiving benefit payments off my social security disability if she is 17 and no longer living with me she has moved out and into her maternal grandmothers home ..?

If she no longer a dependent of yours she should no longer be entitled to the payments. They should have been paid to you anyway for her behalf if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure a check was never sent in the name of a minor. Make sure she does not call them pretending to be you and change the direct deposit account. Call SS to make sure no change has been made without your permission and maybe tell them not to let it be changed.

Will you have to pay taxes if you collect Social Security benefits and state disability at the same time?

The answer depends on your total household income and your state of residence. If you are single and receive $25,000 per year or more in taxable income, or $32,000 for a couple filing jointly, you may have to pay federal tax on a portion of your benefits.

Currently, fourteen of the 50 states also apply some form of tax to these benefits if your total income exceeds a certain threshold.

You are charged an income tax on what you pay into social security why should you be charged income tax again if you ever get any of it back?

We all want to live in a fantasyland where police, fire, roads, bridges, air traffic control, courts, national defense, education, etc are all taken care of and nobody has to pay for them (or at least, somebody else takes pays for it). But somebody has to pay for these things. And somebody has to make the hard decisions about how to raise the money. Nobody likes being asked for the money, nobody likes paying the money.

Congress was given the thankless job of deciding how to raise the money to pay for these things. They decided that after giving generous allowances to make sure low-income people were exempt, people whose income exceeded these allowances should be asked to pay some taxes based on how much income they had. Yes, they could have exempted Social Security benefits, they could have exempted a lot of other things. They could have imposed a head tax instead of an income tax. They could have imposed a sales tax. They could have lowered Social Security benefits instead of paying them to you and taking part back in taxes and you would never have known the difference.

But they decided to do it this way.

What are the number codes of security guards?

The number codes for security guards can vary by organization and location, but they typically consist of numeric codes that represent specific instructions, statuses, or emergency situations. For example, a common code might indicate the need for backup or report a security breach. These codes are often used to facilitate clear and quick communication among security personnel. It's essential for each security team to have a standardized code system to ensure efficient responses.

Does a spouse have to pay alimony if he goes on social security disability?

Alimony is usually paid to one or other of the divorced partners from a marriage. It is also usually set by the court as part of the divorce settlement. However if the divorcee paying the alimony circumstances change then it would be reasonable to go back to the court and ask for the agreement to be suspended (or indeed indeed reversed if the other partner is now the better off .... a bit radical but perhaps worth a try). Obviously you can not pay what you no longer have.

However, if the payments are for the support of children (not the old partner) then although you may not be able to pay as much as before you should still find some money out of your social security to support your kids untill they are 18.

If someone can claim you on their taxes does that impact Social Security Disability?

No, but it could impact any Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits you may otherwise receive. There is no "means testing" required for eligibility under Social Security Disability; you or -- under certain circumstances -- a parent or spouse needs to have worked recently and paid FICA for a set period of time, depending on age. You also have to have a qualifying disability and demonstrate an inability to engage in Substantial Gainful Activity for a period expected to last 12 months or more.

According to the Social Security Administration:

  • Age under 24 years, you generally need one and a half years of work during the three-year period before your disability begins.
  • Age 24 through 30, you generally need to have worked for half of the period between age 21 and the time you become disabled.
  • Age 31 or older, the amount of work you need depends on your age when you become disabled. Also, you must have worked for five years out of the 10 years immediately before you become disabled. Citizenship is not required to qualify for benefits, but you must have legal permission to work in the United States.

Is a taxpayer id number the same as a social security number?

No. A Taxpayer Identification number is issued by the IRS, an illegally constitued Federal agency to collect various taxes and fees (new Health Care Fee has been variously defined as a tax and a fee {legally a fee, but due to imposition, a tax}). This number is to be issued to anyone without a SSN (Social Security Number) and is not eligible to obtain a SSN, that is defined by the IRS as obligated to pay a tax or fee to the Federal Government (Treasury or other constituted agency). Usually non-US citizens.

A Social Security Number is defined by that agency as an identification number to be used to create a record of SSA taxed wages in order to figure the eligibility to Social Security benefits (and since 1974 the eligibility to SSI {Supplemental Security Income benefits [Federal Welfare] including benefits to disabled minors using income from parents in the SSI income calculation}).

An anomoly has arisen in the calculation of minor's SSI benefits when it was discovered that illegal aliens income was not retrievable or reported as the illegal parents of said minors were unable to obtain a valid SSN and therefore the minors eligibilty on income grounds was unobtainable. The Social Secuiry system has not yet obligated illegal alien parents to obtain a Taxpayer Identification number, nor has it reconstituted its computer records or interfacing systems to handle this data tag (although this can be manually input/placed on a minor's SSI record who has working illegal alien parent(s)), the agency does not require this nor encourages its eligibility workers to attempt to obtain or place this data on the disabled minor's record. The knowledge of the Immigration Law loophole allowing the child of an illegal immigrant born in the US to be considered a legal citizen (although the illegal parent or parents can legally register a foreign born child as a citizen of the parent's country of origin, this rarely occurs) currently allows such disabled children to collect SSI benefits in an unequal manner compared to a disabled minor with legal parents.

US citizens born abroad have that right through a little know State Department office in Washington DC {appears Obama's mother failed to do that [no known record of his birth certificate or record of live birth in US exists or has been verified by any legally issuing agency}. Both Hospitals in which it is claimed he was born in in Honolulu do not verify and have denied he was born at either site claimed.

The Social Security Agency states that the SSN was not created to be and is not authorized under any laws or regulations they maintain to be used as an "identification number". This agency leaves the use of this number for identification purposes to the groups that may want use it as ID. They claim and legally have no governance over its use in this regard or the acceptance or denial of "benefits" from any other private or public entity.

All of the above may be verified through the above referred to agency's websites, which are freely open to anyone who wishes to peruse same (with the exception of "black dot" pages not open to the public's perusal in order to protect each Federal agency's held information which may be used to defraud that Federal agency or another).

I am a freelancer and wonder at what dollar amount an employer needs to withhold for taxes and social security?

An employer withholds 7.65% and contributes 7.65%. As a free-lancer, you are probably not an employee but rather a contractor. You, therefore, must pay self-employment tax, which is 15.30% (7.65% X 2).

If you are the custodial parent are you required to give your child's social security number and other personal information to the non-custodial parent if you don't wish to collect child support?

If both of the parents have a joint legal custody arrangement, you have to give the noncustodial parent that information. If you have sole custody of the child, you do not have to share that information with the noncustodial parent.
