I wanted to add to this- I believe i had one, and they only reason i believe this was because i would gush blood then it would stop, and at the very beginning of my period i passed a 3 inch blood clot. and when i would bleed it would be very short bleeding followed by a few hours of not bleeding. The blood was also Bright Red at first, then tapered off to brown.

i had a miscarriage a few years ago and it was like 2 giant slugs it was heartbreaking

If you mean you took the morning after pill then vaginal bleeding is a common side effect but do see your Doctor to be certain that this isn't pregnancy related.

IT's prolly just blood clots, not bad. Their just part of you period. It's blood just really dark.

This sounds a lot like implantation bleeding. While an EPT has detected hcg levels in your urine, indicating pregnancy, it usually takes between 6-14 days for the embryo to implant in your uterus. For many women, they mistake it for their period/ miscarriage (if you already know you are pregnant). I have had 2 miscarriages and the bleeding was heavy, bright red and accompanied by clots and cramps. I am pregnant again (8 weeks) and this time I had implantation bleeding right around my period time (approx 4 weeks). It was dark and minimal, lasting only about 30 mins. I just had my first fetal ultrasound and I have a healthy baby with a heartbeat! So don't worry too much. The only thing you can do at this point is wait it out, perhaps take another EPT in a few days or get your hcg levels taken by your doctor, and hope for the best.

if this is the only bleed you have had since the miscarriage then it is just your body getting rid of whats left in the womb. bleeding after a miscarriage can and usually does last up to a month so dont worry until it goes on longer than that. The thick red mucus is just the thickened lining of the womb where it thickened to accomodate the baby. try not to worry. a midwife

It's not normal but it can happen and doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. I spotted for the first 4 months and again at 23 weeks. So far my baby is ok. You need to go and get checked out at the hospital.


Call your midwife or go straight to the antenatal clinic - there should be a day assessment clinic or early pregnancy clinic that can see you very quickly. They will probably monitor the baby's heartrate or so a scan.

No the navel is not supposed to be way out connected to the uterus. If it bleeds for any other reason then you cutting yourself etc see a doctor. It can be an abscess or a infection.
