Some stereotypes in Little Red Riding Hood include the portrayal of a helpless female character, the cunning and deceitful wolf as a villain, and the cautionary lesson about not talking to strangers. These stereotypes often simplify characters and moral lessons without fully exploring their complexities.

Generalized simplifications about a language and its speakers and uses are what linguistic stereotypes are. For example, tourists sometimes consider Aymara-, Maya-, Nahuatl-, and Quechua-speakers to be monolingual peasants whereas in reality many people from those cultures distinguish themselves in prized modern and traditional occupations, such as the savvy, successful marketers and traders from Otavalo, Ecuador.

Stereotyping in itself won't likely lead to war, although it can generate conflict. Historically, it has been a factor leading up to wars, but the war is usually precipitated by other things.

Hitler's rhetoric condemning the Jews was really a stepping stone to obtain what he really wanted, which was to punish Europe and the US for Germany's humiliation resulting from the previous war and to gain power and control over as much territory as possible for his "Thousand Year Reich". Hitler used Europe's long standing antisemitism as a tool toward his goals, sometimes even quoting antisemitic statements of Martin Luther from the 1500s.

Hippies may stereotype mainstream Americans as materialistic and conformist, seeing them as lacking in creativity and being overly focused on consumerism. Conversely, mainstream Americans might stereotype hippies as lazy, irresponsible, and drug-dependent individuals who reject societal norms and expectations. These stereotypes often stem from misunderstandings and differing values and lifestyles.

Well, there are few stereotypes of autism. One common stereotype is the autistic savant - many people think that every autistic has some area of incredible talent and is otherwise low functioning, when in fact only a few autistics fit that profile.

Many disabilities, autism included, seem to have paired stereotypes of mild and severe. In autism, these are the low functioning and high functioning autism stereotypes. Rather than recognizing that most autistics are medium functioning, many people seem to think there are two distinct subtypes of autism - the nonverbal, self-injurious person in diapers; and the highly intelligent, socially awkward person with mild impairment.

A few people, confused by the description of 'lack of empathy', think that autism is similar to psychopathy. In reality, autism is a failure of understanding, not caring.

Incidentally, autistic repetitive behaviors are sometimes referred to as 'stereotypies' or 'stereotypical behavior'. This consists of actions like rocking back and forth, hand-flapping, lining up toys, etc. It's unrelated to the usual meaning of stereotypes.

There are few major stereotypes about Lebanon, especially in Arab circles. As Lebanon is one of the most liberal and Westernized Arab States, Lebanese women are usually seen as attractive and loose and Lebanese men are usually seen as handsome and womanizers. The "attractive women" stereotype has even leaked to the West. Lebanese are also seen as overly materialistic and appearance-oriented. They are also considered to be ridiculously proud of being Lebanese.

Of course, it should be noted that all of these stereotypes are, by and large, false and simply amplified by the cultural differences between Lebanese and other Arabs.

Driving cars and horses fast, listening to country music, shirt-chasing from the cradle to the grave, speaking in heavily accented English, and wearing boots, hats, jeans, and plaid shirts are stereotypes of cowboys. In reality, all of the above may be found among some -- but not necessarily all -- cowboys, with the exception of the first and third items since cowboys typically respect their transportation modes and their women (be they relative, spouse or stranger).
