8 steps to get food from mouth to stomach?

# The food is chewed up and moistened with saliva to become a bolus, or a rounded mass of food. # The bolus is pushed to the back of the mouth by the tongue and the cheeks. # The soft palate and pendant uvula seal off the nasal cavity. # The tip of the tongue pushes up against the top of the mouth while the base of the tongue pushes the food down, and the sides of the pharynx contract. # The hyoid bone and the larynx are elevated. # The bolus pushes down on the epiglottis, which blocks the trachea. # A contraction of the pharynx pushes the bolus into the esophagus, past the larynx. # Another wave of contractions pushes the bolus through the esophagus to the stomach. The muscles of the neck and throat then relax and return to their normal breathing position

Most stomach ulcers cause pain and an upset stomach and can be treated successfully with anti-acid medications (such as Prilosec) and avoiding non-tylenol pain medications (like aspririn, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, ibuprofen and others), alcohol, smoking, and spicy foods.

Occasionally, an ulcer can erode into an artery and cause life threatening bleeding. You are a week late and you have funny kinda crampy feelings in your stomach are you pregnant?

First of all, if you have had unprotected sex in recent weeks then it is very possible that you are pregnant, however if you have been also worrying about the chance of pregnance your period may be late through stress. Stomach cramps are a symptom of both pregnancy and beginning your period. If you are usually very regular, i suggest you get a pregnancy test and find out for yourself. If you are not, then i would wait another week or two and keep an eye on your body and watch for any symptoms then take a test at home. IF this is negative, and you still have not come on your period, i suggest going to the doctors.
