Straightening Teeth

Teeth-straightening is done through a number of techniques. Dentists often require the patient to wear braces to re-align the position of the tooth. Tooth-reshaping is also performed on mild cases, while implants are installed in extreme cases.

What do people think of a girl with a gap between her front teeth?

I have a gap between my two front teeth and I've always been told it's ultracute! The hebrews believe that a gap between the top front teeth signifies wisdom. Either way, if you have a gap between your teeth, LOVE IT! It makes you who you are and if you ever decided to get it 'fixed,' I can almost guarantee you'll regret it later.

What of John's is made with a harder mettle and therefore is less liable to an impression?

This was from a letter written by Abigail Smith to John Adams.

The answer is his heart.

The excerpt from the letter is as follows. (spelling is as she wrote it)

You was pleas'd to say that the receipt of a letter from your Diana always gave you pleasure. Whether this was designed for a complement, (a commodity I acknowledg that you very seldom deal in) or as a real truth, you best know. Yet if I was to judge of a certain persons Heart, by what upon the like occasion passess through a cabinet of my own, I should be apt to suspect it as a truth. And why may I not? when I have often been tempted to believe; that they were both cast in the same mould, only with this difference, that yours was made, with a harder mettle, and therefore is less liable to an impression. Whether they have both an eaquil quantity of Steel, I have not yet been able to discover, but do not imagine they are either of them deficient. Supposing only this difference, I do not see, why the same cause may not produce the same Effect in both, tho perhaps not eaquil in degree.

Ive been told to wear my retainer all day. If i dont wear my retainer to school but every other time will my teeth start to move back?

Yes they will, I got my braces off around 10 months ago, and I didn't wear my retainer to school, and now my teeth have gone back into an overbite.. lol.

I'm so pissed, yeah your teeth will move back, and then you can't get them to go back into place. -_-

Does it matter if the power chains on your braces move?

I am not sure but you might want to get it checked out. I have had power chains with my braces and they never moved. Plus I have never heard of that happening to anyone. Are you sure that they moved because I don't think their supposed to. Hope I helped :) Check with your orthodontist/dentist if that is supposed to happen.

If you stop wearing a retainer what will happen?

I can tell you from personal experience that your teeth will become crooked again.

My child's retainer no longer fits is there any point in going back to the orthodontist?

Yes ASAP i did not go and get a retainer when mine broke and ended getting braces twice

twice trust me that retainer is way more comfortable than braces

Is one of the brackets on your braces broke or just simply loose?

It is only loose and it won't effect my over all treatment that much. So I get to relax.

you're going to need to get that pulled because it's going to start to become irritated and it shouldn't be growing upside down. You should see a dentist right away because that tooth will cause all the other teeth on both sides to become CROWDED and CROOKED. It could also cause your bite to be incorrect which may lead to WORSE problems later on. DON"T WAIT! If you don't have dental insurance, look in the phonebook for a Town or State SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY.

If you do not brush your teeth regularly, you are prone to getting gum diseases--like gingivitis--and plaque, and your gums become swollen. You will get yellow teeth and disgusting breath. Which are worse spacers aka separators or braces?

braces are way worse! spacers only cause mild pain on the teeth they are touching. braces cause pain on all your teeth; plus, it will take weeks if not months for your gums & cheeks to get used to the braces. with braces, every time you bump your mouth for the first few months- blood & sores! it is very painful!! spacers just feel like a big chunk of dental floss is stuck between your teeth! nothing you can't handle. braces are an entirely different story!
