The half life of methadone is around 60 hours, so if you can stand to wait 3 days (72 hours) than that is better, the longer the better really. You also need to have been gradually coming down off the methadone and need to go down as far as possible. You must be below 40mg but if you can go all the way down to 10 or 15mg than that would make for a smoother transition. You need to be totally honest with your suboxone doctor about when the last time you used was so he can then tell you when to take the suboxone. Trust me you do not want to play around with this. I have seen so many people coming off methadone think " I'll just go ahead and take a suboxone" when it had only been like 24 hours, and the went into severe withdrawals immediately and where in pure HELL for a few hours. YES! Methadone is a miracle drug. It is very strong and one dose can last all day long. I take it myself in low dose for chronic pain. It is also safe for long term use. It was originally designed for terminally sick people and then later adopted as a withdrawl drug for heroin. One of the side effects is it will give you amazing energy and motivation. Be careful as it is very strong and some people have a low tolerence. If your carefull with it methadone can be an amazing drug if you are sick and nothing else seems to help.

Yes it will show up. BUT any attempts to subvert drug screens are usually caught be the test. Suboxone is not generally tested for specifically and does not show as positive for the opiate screen, so if it is being tested for then its % per kilogram might also be tested, and then the subversion would be caught. Plus most drug screens do not test for the drug itself but for the metabolites of the drug after it passes through the body.

Y our not recommended to inject them it can be fatal Ha...so isn't everything else you inject. That wasn't my question. Intravenous is just another method to use it, and is in fact less dangerous than heroin for instance. You always know exactly how potent it is and never have to worry about bunk stuff. if you are addicted to heroin and you take suboxone, you will become violently ill. I was told by user friends to wait at least 24 hrs after taking last dose of heroin. I waited and still began vomitting for hours and crapping myself (no joke), went to hospital only to find they give you no sympathy and no help. It can be different from one person to the next, but my experience is as such: I had to detox from methadone to start a Suboxone detox, my last dose of methadone came on a Monday at 10AM, I was to start Suboxone on Thursday morning, the cold turkey off the methadone became a bit much by Wednesday. I shot 2 bags to curb the withdrawals at 4PM on Wednesday and was dosed with 16 mgs OS Suboxone at 8:30AM on Thursday as planned and was not feeling great but was safe from the sickness that comes from taking suboxone to soon after your last push off.
