So how to explain the thousands of people that see or experience other-worldly spirits, many of whom resemble dead relatives or friends. The bible is very clear on this also. The devil, Satan, ect., and his legion of fallen angels can take any form they want. They also know history of places and people who have previously lived on earth. They have all knowledge of earthly matters. It is not surprising then that they appear to people, giving the misconception that there is no reward or punishment for human behaviour. Human spirits don't linger at the place of their deaths or homes and/or buildings they used to live or frequent. The bible is adament that human spirits are retained until judgement in either of the two places mentioned. If you are experiencing anything paranormal, it has nothing to do with human spirits and everything to do with the 'father of all lies' the serpent we all know as Satan.

The Qur'an reveals many details about the afterlife.
It begins when a person dies. They will still be conscious. They will either be at peace, or tormented (depending upon belief and deeds).
Then the Day of Judgement comes. Everyone is resurrected - in body and spirit. After a period which seems very long to the sinners, the judgment begins.
Those who were evil, or rejected belief in the ONE and ONLY God, will be ushered into Hell. Not everyone who enters Hell will remain there forever. If a person had even a small amount of true faith (in the ONE and ONLY God - with NO PARTNERS) then eventually God will remove them from Hell.
Those who had correct belief in the Oneness of God, and who lived their lives trying to avoid sin and doing their best to obey God and do good deeds, will have their sins forgiven by God and will enter Paradise - forever.
Paradise is a place where people will have physical bodies (better than the ones we have here). The people of Paradise will be given whatever they desire. Of course, God will make them so that they desire only good things. They will have food, clothing, spouses and offspring. they will enjoy the company of the righteous. They will have things that they can not even imagine. And the most enjoyable thing they will receive is to be able to see God.
The Prophet said that no one can imagine what Paradise is like. It is far above whatever we have experienced.
