I usually use 10W-40 full synthetic for summer season and 0W-40 full synthetic for winter season.

i did this today.. there are 2 screws ontop of the fog light, undo those and the whole light asembly comees out and you undo the back cover to get to the globe. that's it. i just cant find a replacement globe that looks the same.

According to another blog, factory spec should be 10-15 degrees BTDC. I cannot vouch for the accuracy...

Classic problem with Spyder. The latch cable has problems releasing the engine latch. Pull hood release inside car then go arround to back and push down on hood. It should pop the latch. Try several times if that doesnt work the first time.

Toyota discontinued production of the Mr2 in 2005 due to the increase in competition and lack of sales of the model. In addition, they discontinued the Celica due to the same reasons.

i think it can be done, it would require extensive tools and supports. the easiest way is to drop them out together and separate them on the floor.

Well I suppose if I had an MR2 then I would carefully remove all the trim pieces around it then remove the screws retaining it to the backing and gently pull it out . But as always it is not mine ,so if you want to also know the easiest way to do it ,Have somebody else fix it. Alas that might not be the least expensive way though.

1993 MR2's could have one of three transmissions: The N/A cars (naturally aspirated - NOT turbo's) came with either an automatic transmission, or a 5 speed manual S54 transmission. The turbo car only came with E153 5 speed manual transmission. Both manual transmissions were upgraded in 1993 with better synchro systems. Limited slip differential became an option in 1993 on E153 models. Other than that they are interchangable with any other transmission in same series from 1990 to 1999 without any modifications.

Check your jack bag. Some kits came with eye bolts that screw into the front or rear. There are round plastic covers on the black areas both front and rear, remove the covers, screw in the eyelets and tow from eye bolts.

Is it possibly a broken/missing alternator or serpentine belt? (nope just alternator light)

It can also be a failing voltage regulator within the alternator, or a failing alternator itself.

It is usually the carbon brushes in the alternator when both lights come on, it indicates a field problem with alternator

Brushes are not to hard to change on a toyota, just remove the alternator from car, remove rear cover unscrew the brush holder and rectifier?(they are attached together) and install new brushes... you will need a soldering iron. It is a simple repair and at less than 10$ is more affordable than replacing the alternator.

VW and Volvo have removable brush holders that unscrew from back of alternator

Gm Ford and Mopar, you may have to split alternator to change brushes, there is often a small hole in back of alternator where you can use a piece of wire to keep brushes compressed when you put alternator back together

It is located in the middle of the seating area of the car, from the bottom. You will need to remove the plastic cover/shield to access it. Along with various fasteners and hoses, fuel lines etc....

You need new synchros, and possibly a new No2 slip ring (3rd/4th slip ring). I have rebuilt two E153 transaxles.

Specs says 116 mph

Personal testimony says 127 mph

I am yet to replace mine with clear ones but they seem to be almost hinged in the middle. You may have to use a flathead screwdriver to wedge between the reflector and light bar on the sidelights and ease it towards you to gain access to the screws to remove the whole fitting.

From what i know all Jap imports of the MR2 are limited to around 127 because of Japanese laws. Though i did see in the UK news a young driver was arrested for going 144 in his dads which was de restricted.

I hit 142 driving between Amarillo, Texas and Shamrock, Texas a few years ago. I think it would have gone slightly faster but the road was kinda bumpy.

stock engine in a 2003 MR2 Spyder with a 5 speed tranny

The radiator is located in the front of the car, where it is located in most cars. There are coolant pipes running beneath the car, under protective covers, that feed coolant to and from the radiator. There are three drain plugs on the car, and it is a complicated system to flush.

130hp for the normally aspirated engine (non turbo) and 200hp for the turbo engine.

For the Mk2: - place a flat-head screw driver in-between the reflector and sidelight. Then lever out the sidelight towards the front of the car. The plastic is quite bendy but don't use too much force, and the unit will pop out.
