What note is concert B flat for a tuba?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It depends on the type of Tuba, really. In the most common tubas (I think they're F Tubas), a concert Bb is a Bb. In other tubas, it may vary. I think that on a Bb Tuba a concert Bb is a C. For other variations I would suggest consulting a professional musician.

What is the highest note on the tuba?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

that is really hard to do... only ever pulled it off once. the easiest way is to work down to it. the harder way is to just start on it. in this latter case, you could try to start out with the standard buzz, but i've found that the sound peters out after a few seconds. i've heard of people using a slow flutter tongue. the trick is to use a LOT of air and keep your lips really really relaxed.

hope it helps! good luck!

How to play a euphoniumA euphonium is an instrument that can have three, four,or five valves. To play a euphonium, shape your lips as if you were saying 'm'. Basically, the shape of the lip you make when you say the alphabet. You blow into the mouthpiece, letting your lips vibrate as the air passes through. Press down on the valves to get different notes. For higher notes, tighten the lips, forming a smaller opening in the lips.

Open, -> leave the valve untouched (you can still rest your fingers).

1 -> Press 1 (Index Finger)

2 -> Press 2 (Middle Finger)

3 -> Press 3 (Ring Finger)

?, ? -> Press those 2.

B flat is open.

C is 1, 3 or 4

D is 1, 2

E flat is 1

F is open

G is 1, 2

A is 2

B flat is open.

That is a b flat scale.

It is best for you to buy a book, or learn from an experienced player.

[I am someone else adding additional information: That answer above is sort of correct, but if you are reading any euphonium music written in the treble clef (as in Great Britain where I am, ], the note described above as B flat, which plays as B flat on the piano, is called C and is read as C, so in fact it is C that is open, B flat is 1, D varies depending on which D you are playing, and in America euphonium music is written in the Bass Clef so I'm not sure what goes on there!]

This might help: the trombone was developed around the mid-1400s. At the time, it was the only brass instrument to be able to play chromatically, that is all the notes of a scale!

What would happen if you stood on your head while eating?

Your esophagus (the thing that brings food down when you swallow) uses muscles to bring/keep food down into the stomach, so your esophagus basically pinches together above the food and pushes it down like a tube of yogurt. If you ate food upside down, than it wouldn't just come right back out, it would still go down to the stomach like normal.
