The more you wonder and worry about losing them the more stressed out you make yourself and the worse your prognosis will be. Instead of trying to picture a worse case scenario try to picture a best case scenario of walking around blessed with two beautiful little babies in matching outfits while dozens of passersby coo "oh look at those adorable little babies." Your prognosis will be a lot better. You can also think about how many childless woman would love to be in shoes. Think good, and it will be good.

heavy bleeding does not always mean miscarriage. there could have been a blood clot or a tear but i have heard a few women talk about heavy bleeding and thought they were miscarrying but were fine.

Yes, that is a very normal heartbeat for a fetus. I have had 3 children & pregnant with my 4th & my 1st 3 kids heartbeats were in the 160's. All girls. This baby though I am pregnant with is ranging 140's to 150's. Your baby has a good strong heartbeat. Good Luck!

At my first ultrasound I was 10 weeks 5 days and my babies heart beat was 176...it slows down throughout pregnancy.

My best friend just had her baby at 30 weeks and he came out 3lbs 2oz and is doing very well. Your baby might have to stay in the NICU for awhile though

Hello, Blood can be difficult to see on a ultrasound. Picture a ultrasound picture, the images are grey and hazy. Also if you are 4 weeks pregnant the pregnancy would not be visible on a ultrasound scan until you were 6 weeks pregnant. The only person who can accurately and thoroughly read a ultrasound is a Radiographer or a Obstetrician Doctor. I would make a appointment with your Doctor, have a pregnancy blood test performed and book a ultrasound scan for 2-3 weeks time. You need a quantitative beta HCG blood test to measure the level of HCG in your blood which will also tell you if your pregnancy is viable. Good luck.

Every Dr is different. They normally begin looking for it around 10 weeks of pregnancy but my not be able to hear it until around 12 weeks.

Ultrasounds measure the size of the fetus to predict a due date and are usually very accurate, within two weeks, so I would safely assume that it would not be off by five weeks. You can ask your doctor, it won't be the first time he or she has answered that question,I promise.

Also it depends on when the U/S is. U/S before 12 weeks of pregnancy are very accurate, plus or minus 2 weeks. After that there are more varibles, babies grow at different rates so they are not as accurate.

From what I understand, you should see a fetal pole by that time. However, I would go back for another u/s in about a week to see if things have changed or not.
