What is the latest that a heart can start beating in a baby and where can you feel it at to check?
You will not be able to feel the heartbeat yourself at home. The only way is to listen to the heartbeat, either on a traditional ultrasound or a Doppler ultrasound. Usually, you can see/hear the heart beating on a traditional ultrasound by 7 weeks gestation, and can hear it through a Doppler ultrasound between 10-12 weeks. Hearing the heartbeat so early also depends on the mother's weight (amount of fat on the belly) and the position of the uterus (some women's are tipped backwards, making it harder to hear the heartbeat at the earlier stages of pregnancy).
What can you do in first few weeks to make sure your baby is okay?

ultasound
Suppose to be 7 weeks doctors see nothing and tell you about blighted ovum could they be wrong?
I am sorry, at this stage the doctor would certainly see something on ultrasound.
What should you see on a 6 week 2 day ultrasound?
in 6 weeks and 2 days the heart and movement can be seen and the measurment of fetus is about 3/4 cm
It is probably OK. The heartbeat is usually always present by six weeks even though it isn't generally detectable at five weeks. So your scan was done at a borderline time. Sometimes babies are actually younger than the dates indicate and so there isn't cause for concern just yet. If no heartbeat was detected in a subsequent scan and if your hCG levels started to fall, that would indicate a problem.
nope, this happened to me too .. they waited about 3 weeks, tried again and found the heartbeat. It's just because the baby is working to grow, and the fetus is so tiny its hard to pinpoint where the heart is.
How big is a 2 week old embryo?
Teeny. Less than a grain of rice, and still unrecognisable as a human being. Two weeks later however, the limb buds will have formed, so bubba bean looks much more like a human!

I actually had a miscarriage recently (at 2 weeks preg.) I bled and that same day I noticed what looked like a tiney baby ant (2 black specks) clung together by a gooey gel type substance. I'm assuming this had been the embryo or "blastocyst".. or perhaps a part of it. It was a no bigger than the tip of a match.
Six weeks pregnant on August 10th gives a due date of April 3rd, a conception date of July 12th and a last period around June 28th. a scan at this early stage is very accurate.
Why can you hear your blood whooshing in your ears?
Many people report a "ringing," "buzzing," or "roaring" that others cannot hear. Sometimes the sounds "pulse" with the person's heartbeat. But rather than blood "whooshing," those sounds usually turn out to be subjective head-noises known as tinnitus. Most tinnitus is harmless; some can be treated. People who experience subjective head-noises might want to consult with a physician to ask whether the symptom needs attention or whether the noises can be diminished.
Does the heart beat of a baby stop during pregnancy?
No , in 90 - 95 percent of all causes relating heart issues if your heart stops beating no matter what type like if it's a heart attack or stroke your heart won't beat again and you will be dead and enter a new world called * heaven * or no world at all just be in a world of nothing.
HI!
It just so happens I had an ultrasound at 6 1/2 weeks no fetal pole (done transvaginally) and just today they found a baby with heartbeat at at 7 weeks 1 day. I spent days worrying however after doing much research on the internet, from other women going through the same experience, sometimes it can't be detected till after 8 weeks because it's so small. I did have some minor spotting too which the doctor said wasn't anything to worry about however I think that you should pray and wait it out until the next visit. If you haven't showed any signs of a miscarriage (bleeding or loss of pregnancy symptoms) chances are everything will be fine in your other scan. Other instances could involve blighted ovums or molar pregnancy however your chances seem pretty good. Best of Luck!
What is the chance of miscarriage if a healthy fetus is seen on an ultrasound at 10 weeks 3 days?
==Answer == Most miscarriges occur before twelve weeks. One of the most common causes of miscarriage is a blighted ovum, this is where the egg is fertilized but doesn't develop properly. In this instance there is never a fetal heart detected, so the fact that they have seen the heart is a good sign. There are many other factors to consider, such as if you have had a previous miscarriage, and how many. If you have a history of miscarrige, minimal physical activity, no sex, no medications other than those given by your doctor, etc. will increase your odds of carrying the fetus to term.
When do you start to show when you're pregnant?
Sometimes you don't show until the sixth month. But four months is average.
it is better to see a gynec first around age of 13-14 then after certain period a regular check-up visit would definetely help women's health
If there is no heartbeat in 8 weeks pregnancy?
If there is no heartbeat by 8 weeks then you should schedule an ultrasound to make sure the baby is healthy. If you already had an ultrasound then chances are you might miscarry. There is no medical treatment to keep you from miscarrying, and it isn't your fault in anyway if that is the case so don't blame yourself and keep trying.
What does it mean if a fetus has a small belly at thirty weeks?
You should ask your doctor about this as he/she will have adequate information about your pregnancy and ultrasonography. A possible cause of small belly is due to undernourishment. As the nutrients from the mother deteriorates, fetus will use up nutrient from the liver thus causing the abdomen to become smaller.
I'm so sorry, but yes, at eight weeks - hCG levels should still be rising and the heart beat should be clearly visible on a scan.
The tissue may be absorbed or you will pass it during what most likely will be similar to a heavy - crampy period. If you don't start having a flow your doctor may suggest doing a D & C, I would request another sonogram and a last hCG level to be sure the level has dropped and the heart beat is not evident before the D & C, if there is any question in your mind.
Usually a miscarriage this early is due to severe abnormalities - and is not an indication of infertility or your ability to get pregnant or to carry a pregnancy.
a doctor tried to tell me the same thing.....he said my babys not alive cause they couldn't see a active heart beat.I went home all upset waiting for my body to DO what THE doctors call it "abort the baby NATURALLY".THIS IS WHEN THEY SEE A SAC BUT NO HEART BEAT.COUPLE DAYS LATER I WAS BLEEDING AND CRAMPING SO I WENT IN THINKING I WAS MISCARRYING.WE DID A ULTRA SOUND AND THERE MY BABY WAS.ALIVE AS CAN BE HEART BEATING AWAY.DOCTORS CAN BE OFF BY TWO WEEKS SOME TIME AND DOCTORS TO ME ARNT ALWAYS THE SMARTEST PEOPLE.IM LEARNING THAT DOCTORS GUESS MORE THEN WHAT THEY KNOW.GO BY YOUR INSTINCT AND PRAY AND HOPE FOR THE BEST.IM SURE EVREY THING IS FINE.SOME BABYS GROW FASTER THEN OTHER AND DEVLOPE TO.SO JUST LIKE ME YOUR BABY IS PROBALLY DEVELOPING A LITTLE SLOWER AND LOOK AT IS AS GOD TAKING HIS TIME WITH YOUR BABY.YOU SHOULD FEEL SPEACIAL.HAVE YOUR DR CHECK YOUR HCG COUNT AND THEN AGAIN THREE DAYS LATER TO SEE IF YOUR LEVEL DOUBL IF THEY DO YOU HAVE NO WORRIES IF THEY DONT THEN REDUE THE STEPS AGAIN.IF THEY GO UP ALITTLE BUT DOSENT DOUBLE THEN WORRY.AS LONG AS YOUR #S DOUBLE YOUR PREGNANCY IS GOING GOOD SO FAR.THAT DOESNT MEAN YOU CANT MISCARRY BUT IT MEANS IF YOUR WORRY JUST BED REST ON YOUR OWN AND TAKE IT EASY UNTILL 20 WEEKS.THAT IS IF YOU WANT THIS BABY.DONT WAIT FOR A DR TO BED REST YOU DO IT CAUSE ITS BETTER SAFER THEN SORRY......GOOD LUCK
Always ask doctors exactly what do they mean, so you won't go home worrying about it. But I also had the doctor tell me once that I wasn't as far as I thought, & it was nothing I just got the date of my last period messed up.
How do you see unborn babies in the uterus?
No. However, when the eyes of the fetus are developed and finally can open and close, they can see light. The fetus may even shield its eyes with its hands if you were to shine a bright flashlight directly into the mother's tummy! The fetus can also hear some things outside the belly once the ears have developed.
It could mean that 1. they either didn't find the heartbeat or 2. You could be having a misscarriage. Sometimes it's very difficult to find a heartbeat when the baby is so small. Depending on the position of the baby as well. just because your levels aren't exactly doubling doesn't indicate a problem it could just mean that your body is responding differently then the other womans also as long as your levels are significantly rising say example 10,000 to 17,000 in 4 or 5 days then your fine some womens levels are just different hope everything works out for you and it is very rare that they can find a heartbeat at 6 weeks the heart is just about fully developed and may not have even begun beating it really depends on a lot so don't be so worried just yet your doctor will see whats going on stressing about things only makes them seem worse then what they are Good Luck and God Bless!!!
You are 8 weeks pregnant you went in for an ultrasound and the fetus measured 5 weeks 6 days?
Ultrasound scanning is dependant on many different variables, it depends on the machine being used, whether it was abdominal or a vaginal scan and of course on who preformed the scan.
In the majority of cases the earlier the scan the more accurate. Was a fetal heart pulsation visible?
The gestation of the fetus can vary depending on your history, do you have a regular menstrual cycle, ie. between 28 and 30 days from the first day of one cycle to the first day of the next, if outside of this then your dates will vary as Naegels rule of pregnancy doesn't apply because you ovulate 14 days before your period starts. Were your last three periods of normal length for you? Were you on the Oral contraceptive/any other contraceptive or pregnant/ breast feeding or have any other event or medication that could have altered your body's hormonal response three months before you conceived?
If any of the above then using the 1st day of your last menstrual period won't be accurate.
Now unfortunately there are other reasons also, but the above has to be ascertained first.
