How Much does a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel make?

Military pay is complicated. Pay differs from location to location, and by family size. There is also a tax advantage.

Basically an Army Full Colonel (O-6) with 1 year service makes $90,436.08, and with 45 years service $142,186.08. I'll bet there are none in either category, so the average is somewhere in the middle. Maybe around $128,000.

What is America's oldest branch of military?

None. The expected answer to this question is the US Marine Corps, established in 1775, a year before the US was established in 1776. The Continental Marines were formed in 1775 and disbanded after the war. Under the Articles of Confederation there were no Marines, and no US. The US was not established as a country until the signing of the Constitution in 1787, and the Navy Act of 1794 established the US Marines. Yet, the USMC prefers to predate its birth nineteen years earlier to 1775, just as the US celebrates its birthday eleven years earlier with the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Looking at it this way, the Marines are older than the US, but it is not technically accurate.

What are requirements to be in civil air patrol honor guard?

Any Cadet can be a member of a Unit Honor Guard, provided your unit allows any age cadet to be trained the Honor Guard Elements. Some units may encourage a higher level of maturity or strength for some of the elements, since a Civil Air Patrol Funeral can be difficult to handle for some younger cadets and the Rifles your unit uses should only be handled if you have enough strength and skill to use them. However, that does not stop a cadet from being trained in the Drug Demand Reduction Elements or Honor Guard principles.

Ask your local Unit Honor Guard Commander for details.

As for the CAP National Honor Guard Academy, the admittance age as of 2010 is 13 years old with only very few individual exceptions for 12 year olds. As a 3rd year outstanding graduate of the Honor Guard Academy I recommend you consider your own maturity level and physical ability before attending. If you cannot manipulate a 5-7lb drill rifle easily or hold a 7ft pole and flag at present arms (45 degree angle, extended from hip) for several minutes you may not be physically ready to handle the rigors of the Academy. The main academic curriculum can be handled by a focused 12 year old, but if you have trouble with drill I suggest you join a drill team or color guard, or even your own unit honor guard. Although the drills are totally different between drill team, color guard, and honor guard, the basic principles of precision and attention to detail remain.

Can Felons get into the army?

I believe the answer to this question is yes. My fiance has a felony and enlisted in the military yesterday at a job fair. He was told that the areas of the military in which he would be allowed to participate would be "restricted". Basically, he does not have all the options that the general enlistee has. We were also told that the United States Military is the only part of the Army that will accept felons.

What do you do if someone if suffering from heat stroke?

The most important thing to do is to cool the person's body temperature as quickly as possible. Many sports team now require a tub of ice to be available on the sidelines of games and practices for athletes who get into heat-related trouble. If someone collapses from heat stroke, you should immediately try to get them into a tub of ice cold water. If you can cool their body temperature down within the first 30 minutes, they have a better chance of survival.

Other things to try:

- Lie them down - on a bed or into the recovery position

- Remove most of their clothes (cut them off, don't dither around undressing them).

- Ensure they can breath properly- give oxygen if you can

- Give smallish sips of water slowly, not a huge amount at one time however

- cool the person down, place them under a fan or in air conditioned room (not too cold). Maybe dribble cool water over them SLOWLY. Cool (not cold) damp towels on them work well.

- Their heart can practically disintegrate. Placate them, put their mind at rest with reassurance.

- Call an ambulance fast to get them to professional help.

Why should people join the Canadian Forces?

Yes. There are many reasons why.

1. Every country needs to be able to defend itself and help its allies.

2. It's an interesting career that you can be proud of, definitely much better than sitting behind a desk 40 hours a week.

3. Soldiers are heroes, and you would be able to wake up every morning knowing you are a hero.

4. In the past 10 years (Afghanistan era) about 150 soldiers have died, out of roughly 100,000 soldiers. That's less than 0.5 percent.

5. The pension and benefits are amazing.

6. It helps you get women ;)

I'm going to enlist as soon as I turn 16 (a few months now!)

Who is better air force or navy?

Go to the military division in which you think you will be better off in, and which interests you the most.Well you have to look at what is important, do you want to make more money? If so then go ahead and forget about the Air Force, reason being is that you will advance way faster in the Navy than the Air Force their advancement is very slow, second do you want to travel, then the navy is the way to go on that aswell because that is what they do, don't let the Air Force talk you up with their Air Force Community College because that is what it is a Community College, the Navy gets Accredited College Credits for the training you do from the American Councel of Education. i don't really know why anyone would ever want to join a organization like the Air Force.

Airwoman is appropriate for a female member of an airforce. Only officers should be called "sir" or "ma'am". Lower ranks should be addressed by their rank although "leading aircraftsman" is a mouthful compared to the equivalent "corporal".

Answer 4

Airman is appropriate for male or female, it is not gender specific, and 'sir' or 'ma'am' i addressed to higher ranking member than yourself.
